It Only Takes 30 Seconds To Change A Relationship On 'Temptation Island'

A new twist on "Temptation Island" can change things drastically for both the couples and the singles.

The ability to send a 30-second video message to their boyfriend/girlfriend definitely changed things for a few of the couples. And with the singles getting the opportunity to throw some confusion or doubt into the mix, things are really shaking up on the island and setting the scene for some big changes.

Once again, everyone was surprised by a new addition to the show when host Mark L. Walberg entered the villas to share some news.

"I wanted to let you know that you'll have the opportunity to send your boyfriend a 30-second video message," Walberg announced in the girls' villa. "In this message, you can say whatever it is you wanna say. And if you don't want to send it, don't sent it. Keep in mind that your boyfriends will also have the opportunity to send you a message. Maybe he will, maybe he won't."

He then dropped a literal bomb on the villa.

"One more thing. We're gonna do something we've never done on 'TI,'" he said. "Singles, you will have the opportunity to send a message as well."

He added, "This is your journey too, so take some time to think about what you'd like to say."

Imagine being one of the significant others and getting a message from the person your boyfriend or girlfriend has been bonding with, whether emotionally, physically, or both. And as you can imagine, a few of the singles took the opportunity to stick the knife in and twist just a little.

Everyone  on "TI" was anxious about getting a video message. No one was quite sure where this was going to go since they know very little about what their other half has been up to on the other side of the island. While the bonfires reveal some things the couples have been up to, there's still a lot of time that the bonfires don't address where changes in heart and mind can be happening.

Vanessa was first up. The video message she sent Rob had an apology and admission that she may have pushed him too far. The message he sent Vanessa certainly set a fire inside of her, and not the good kind.

But first, Rob also got a message from Brice.  Brice wanted to inform Rob that Vanessa is a great person and he's got to do better.

"I'm very disappointed with this message because I don't think he sees the real Vanessa. I don't think he sees the Vanessa I live with and it's like she still thinks that I am the villain, I'm the bad guy in the relationship," Rob said about seeing the video message from Brice.

He also commented on the message Vanessa sent saying, "I wanted to see more growth from Vanessa, but I just didn't see that."

When Vanessa watched Rob's message, it set flames off inside of her and she once again showed her angry side.

He said in his video that he's "grown a tremendous amount" and for the first time, he's seeing what standards he wants in a relationship and what he wants out of a partner.

"I've noticed that we are a very toxic couple and we both need to make changes to end this cycle of toxicity," he said to Vanessa in his video. "There's a lot of things that we both need to do. I still love you, but I don't think you have what it takes to change but I hope to God you can."

Vanessa also got a message from Desiree explaining that she's been able to emotionally connect with Rob.

"He deserves a partner who's open minded, empathetic, and emotionally available," she said. "Not a partner who's controlling."

And then enter angry, fight-back Vanessa into this mix.

"Who the f*** do you think put in that work to make him like that? Because this man was not like that when I met him and it was my effort and my prying and my pulling and my f***ing work that made him so emotionally available," Vanessa fired back.

Next up was Chris. He didn't expect to get a message from Marisela, but he did. She explained that she just wants happiness and their relationship doesn't bring her the happiness she's seeking.

"I love you, Christopher. I thank you for the time we spent together, and I truly hope you find what you're looking for," she said. Hearing her say "I love you" gave him the feels and now he's struggling with how he really feels.

Alexius sent Marisela a message saying that she's looking forward to helping Chris find himself again. Marisela was slightly annoyed that he couldn't just speak for himself.

Time for Great and Paris to see their messages.

Paris said she questions everything because of how he embarrassed her and she wants him to fix his mistakes and be a better man.

"I feel like she's delusional," Great said after watching her message. "I think she's the one who needs to get her act together."

Great sent Paris a message that explained that he realizes now that he has trust issues and is scared of being hurt. He also said he's on a journey to becoming a better person.

Nafeesah also sent Paris a message, and she didn't hold back, sassy attitude and all.

"We've spent several long nights together and it's just left me so confused as to why you brought him here in the first place," she told Paris.

Nafeesah's message aggravated Paris and she said she's confused now and wants to know what's going on.

Hall's message started off with, "You are strong, dependable, caring. You are beautiful inside and out. We came to this island knowing that we needed something, and we were missing something."

He continued by expressing that he hopes she's fully embraced the opportunity to work on herself because he has, and he has found true happiness with himself.

Makayla also sent Kaitlin a message in a tone of only a person trying to take your man would use.

"Never in a million years did I expect to fall for someone in a deep and emotional level," she explained. "Hall and I share all of the same family values and he is everything I've been searching for in a future husband and father."

She continued by thanking her for bringing Hall to the island otherwise she would have never met her "soulmate."

Kaitlin felt Hall and Makayla's messages were slightly conflicting so it left some confusion for her to figure out.

Hall got a message from Kaitlin the expressed her love for him and the life they built together. She hopes they can still come together and grow from this experience.

That set a fire in Hall's soul because he said he really needed to see her immediately. He was driven to the girls' villa where he met Kaitlin by saying, "I have to talk to you."

We'll have to wait until next week to find out if he's about to end it, or if he's ready to leave the island with Kaitlin by his side. What do you think he's going to do?
