Actor Armie Hammer and Elizabeth Chambers have reached a settlement in their divorce three years after she first filed.

The couple married in May 2010. In July 2020, she filed for divorce after ten years of marriage. The former couple shares two children: Harper, 8, and Ford Douglas Amand, 6.

According to court documents obtained by The Blast, the former couple will share joint legal custody of their two minor children.

According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Armie Hammer will retain all royalties and residuals in the divorce. He has appeared in popular movies such as 2010’s “The Social Network” and, most recently, 2022’s “Death on the Nile.”

Although he will be keeping his GMC Denali and his life insurance policy, he will have to repay his ex-wife’s mother for a loan “in the sum of $285,000, plus applicable interest.” However, the couple will jointly maintain a 529 account for their daughter, Harper Grace Hammer, as they will share joint custody of both children.

Both Hammer and Chambers agreed to “confer in advance and in good faith on matters having to do with the education, educational placement, religious training, medical treatment, and other aspects of the health and welfare” of their children.

One interesting thing is to note that “neither Party shall publish, cause to be published, or consent to the publication of any photographs or personal information of the Minor Children in magazines, newspapers, television, radio, or other media, without providing the other Party with reasonable advance notice of the intended publication.”

The court documents go on to say: “This provision is intended to apply to formal publications and interviews, and is not intended to restrict either Party from casually speaking about the Minor Children, such as during a red carpet interview or other unscheduled interaction regarding which advance notice to the other Party would not be feasible.”

The filing goes into considerable detail about how photos of their children can be used “on any form of social media,” and notes that the physical location of the child cannot be tagged in the photos and the photo containing the child must not have any obvious landmarks in the background that would give away the child’s location. For privacy reasons, any photos published on social media also cannot include pictures of the children’s school or have the school logo featured on their clothing.

Both parties intend to return to Los Angeles and will continue to participate in co-parenting counseling sessions on an as-needed basis. It sounds like the parents are also trying to protect their children from the divorce, as the court documents note:

“Neither Party shall make, nor knowingly allow anyone else to make, any negative, disparaging or derogatory comments about the other Party in the presence of or within earshot of the Minor Children and each party shall remove the Minor Children immediately from any third party doing so. This shall include, but not be limited to, family members, friends, or any other third parties in the presence of or within earshot of the Minor Children.”

In addition to not smoking in front of the children, there are also special rules concerning when the children can eat candy. The court documents state: “The parties acknowledge and agree that it is not in the Minor Children’s best interest to consistently have candy during either parent’s respective custodial times, and the parties shall refrain from giving the Minor Children candy during each visit.”

There are also rules regarding introducing their children to a new romantic partner. According to the court filing, neither party will introduce the children to a new romantic partner unless they have been exclusive with that person for at least six months and have notified the other parent of their intent to do so.
