Armie Hammer One Step Closer to Legal Single Status

Armie Hammer's life has been a roller coaster for the last few years. His divorce is one of those things he is so, so close to leaving behind.

According to documents obtained by The Blast, the controversial actor has filed all the necessary paperwork with the courts, declaring he has turned over all the required financial information and disclosed everything he needs to settle his divorce.

This is the first push in the Call Me By Your Name star's divorce from his estranged wife,e Elizabeth Chambers. She filed for divorce in 2020 after some nasty habits were revealed about Hammer via his alleged mistresses.

Double whammy for Chamber,s who shares two boys with the actor-turned-timeshare salesman. The filing is a declaration of disclosure,e and while this doesn't mean the divorce is finalized, it's one giant step forward in a divorce that hasn't seen much movement in the last few years.

Chambers announced that she had left Hammer on Instagram after much speculation. "Thirteen years as best friends, soulmates, partners, and then parents. It has been an incredible journey, but together, we've decided to turn the page and move on from our marriage," she writes.

The post featured a throwback photo of the former couple in their early years. "As we enter into this next chapter, our children and relationship as co-parents and dear friends will remain our priority," the post continues.

"We understand this news lends itself to public dialogue, but in the interest of our children and our family, we're asking for privacy, compassion, and love during this time."

The actor's actions spoke volumes about where he is at in life. He has taken up residence in the Cayman Islands full-time. Hammey grew up there, spending much of his time on the island with his super-rich family.

Hammer's court docs were served to his estranged wife yesterday. It clearly states: "Respondent's Final Declaration of Disclosure of current Income and Expense Declaration, completed Schedule of Assets and Debts, Community and Separate Property Declarations with appropriate attachments, all tax returns filed by the party in the two years before service of the preliminary disclosures, and all other required information."

Soon after Chambers requested the divorce from Hammer, he filed his paperwork asking for joint custody of his two children. At the time, Hammer was still residing in L.A. and insisted that Chambers took the kids to the island and didn't plan on returning.

Besides this little hiccup, there hasn't been much chatter around the divorce. Chambers gave an exclusive interview to Us Weekly,y breaking down life with Hammer during the most challenging part of their marriage and being stuck at home because of the pandemic.

"You can give, you can love, you can be there for someone, but you also need to hold people accountable for their actions," Chambers said. "The dissolution of my family was literally my biggest fear of my whole life."

As for Hammer, he has been spotted working away, selling timeshares but avoiding the media like the plague.
