Rosie O'Donnell provided a health update on her close friend Madonna. Responding to concerned fans on Instagram, the 61-year-old comedian reassured everyone that Madonna is doing well and is currently recuperating at home after her hospitalization due to a "serious bacterial infection." She replied to a concerned fan, "She is recovering at home — she is very strong in general."

O'Donnell's heartening update on Madonna's health comes after she reminisced about their on-screen collaboration in the 1992 film "A League of Their Own."

The comedian took to social media, posting a picture of herself and Madonna from the movie where they portrayed best friends Doris Murphy and Mae Mordabito, respectively. The film, set against the backdrop of World War II, follows their journey as they join the Rockford Peaches baseball team.

On the Wednesday prior, Guy Oseary, Madonna's manager, disclosed that the renowned pop star had been grappling with a "serious bacterial infection" just weeks before her highly anticipated Celebration Tour was scheduled to commence.

According to insiders, Madonna had been disregarding certain symptoms of illness for an extended period, as she hoped they would dissipate on their own. "She didn't want to take time away from rehearsals," the source told People magazine.

"She was run down and not feeling 100 percent for a while in anticipation of her tour. She is relentless in her quest to be the best, to wow her fans and to do what others before her have not done."

Another source within the music industry added, "Madonna has been very busy for a long time and not taking care of herself. She just continues to push herself beyond the limit."

Madonna was found unresponsive and quickly transported to a hospital in New York City on June 24th. The "Material Girl" hitmaker was intubated and kept under medical care for at least one night. Her first daughter, Lourdes Leon, was reportedly by her side when she got rushed to the intensive care unit.

An insider later shared with People that the Queen of Pop is "is out of the ICU and now recovering." They added that "she's back home and feeling better."

However, TMZ learned directly from sources that Madonna's condition remains precarious. Since her discharge from the hospital, she has been experiencing uncontrollable vomiting, indicating that the infection continues to afflict her body.

Madonna's highly-anticipated "Celebration" tour was initially set to begin in less than three weeks but has now been postponed due to her ongoing health crisis.

The tour was slated to encompass 53 shows across North America and Europe, with the opening night planned for July 15th in Vancouver. However, Madonna's health scare has necessitated a pause in all her commitments, including the tour.

Oseary expressed that more information regarding the rescheduled shows and a new start date will be shared with fans as soon as possible, writing, "At this time, we will need to pause all commitments, which includes the tour. We will share more details with you as soon as we have them, including a new start date for the tour and for rescheduled shows."

The Grammy-winning artist had promised to deliver a memorable experience, performing her greatest hits spanning from her self-titled debut album in 1983 to her most recent record, "Madame X," released in 2019.
