Amber Heard is making a comeback in a movie with "In The Fire", a supernatural thriller that sees the "Aquaman" actress playing a pioneering psychiatrist at a time it was not a recognized or respected science. The movie premiered at the Taormina Film Festival on June 24th.

Fans seemed to like it, as one commented, "Beautiful movie, amazing cast. Thanks for standing with this brave woman, Amber Heard."

She plays a 38-year-old American psychiatrist out to save a disturbed child in Colombia whose actions scare people around, who then accuse the kid of being the devil. As she tries to treat the child, the “supernatural” events intensify, and the movie focuses on a race against time for her to save the child from the action of others and his inner fury.

Heard took to social media to post a picture of her with a big smile on her face, though she still has the comments turned off. Speaking to Deadline, Heard was sure to convey that she does not think about what others think of her, given that she has no control over it. Said the 37-year-old, "I’m in control of the most of what comes out of my mouth. What I’m not in control of is how my pride in this project and all we put into this film can be surrounded by clips of other stuff. Right now, I just kind of want to not have, you know, stones thrown at me so much. So let’s get the elephant out of the room then, and just let me say that. I am an actress. I’m here to support a movie. And that’s not something I can be sued for."

She also continued to talk about her pride in her career, and that what she has gone through in her personal life has got nothing to do with acting, as she said, "I’m not telling you I have this amazing film career, but what I have is something that I’ve made myself, and it has given me a lot to be able to contribute. What I have been through, what I’ve lived through, doesn’t make my career at all. And it’s certainly not gonna stop my career. So let’s talk about this movie."

Meanwhile, the cast of the movie is all praise for her. The director, Connor Allyn said of Heard, "She’s still the shining light ... and to go through something that terrible and be able to come out the other side and be whole, well, I can’t imagine it." Heard's costar in the thriller, Luca Calvani, was also all praise, "Anyone that suffers that sort of ordeal and can overcome it with grace, no matter what side you’re on, no matter what you believe or which social media [outlet] you plug into or whatever your hashtags are, you have to give credit for the incredible journey this woman has been through, and she can teach us all a couple of things as far as resilience and courage."

Here's Heard, having a good time in Sicily.
