In the wake of the growing privacy violation happening at concerts, festivals, and other entertainment gatherings, Kelsea Ballerini is the latest music star to fall prey to this ignoramus behavior by fans days behind Bebe Rexha and Ava Max.
A displeasing video capturing the moment when the country music superstar was hit in the face on stage has been shared across various online platforms. As the unfortunate events rapidly took social media by storm, die-hard fans addressed the event head-on with empathy and understanding.
Fans React To Kelsea Ballerini's On-Stage 'Bracelet' Incident
The Country pop star is the supporting act and opener for Kenny Chesney's "I Go Back Tour" tour. On Wednesday, June 28, a random crowd member pelted an object toward her while performing "If You Go Down" at Outlaw Field at the Idaho Botanical Garden in Boise.
Although it's not specific what struck her eye area, many cybernauts believe it was a bracelet. In the clip, after the 29-year-old touring act returned to the stage when she was done getting checked, she said:
"Can we just talk about what happened? All I care about is keeping everyone safe. If you ever don't feel safe, please let someone around you know. If anyone's pushing too much or you just have that gut feeling, just always flag it. Don't throw things. You know?"
The unfortunate incident stimulated a reaction from the "If You Go Down (I'm Goin' Down Too)" artist's official fan page. They released a statement that read, "Guys. I know we all mean well. We all want to show Kelsea love the best way we know how and shower her with all the gifts. But throwing things on stage where artists are already so vulnerable is NOT the move."
The fan page further urged gig-goers to find better alternatives to handing her things without jeopardizing her safety. They penned: "If you can't hand it to her, there are many other options. Lord, give it to us! We will make sure it gets to her. But PLEASE don't put her in danger like this." The message concluded by writing:
"Again, I know you all mean well, but this is becoming a safety issue. We love you guys. We do. But please make it stop."
Underneath the post, other like-minded loyalists reacted. "This is why we cannot have nice things anymore....," one user wrote while another commented, "This is not ok[,]people need to stop throwing things at artists; Kelsea could have been hurt. If you want to give gifts[,] do it after or at a meet and greet.
A third user noted, "People apparently don't know how to act at concerts anymore,. I hope she's ok [sad emoji]." Someone else wrote, "with; these people need to be fined/ arrested/something. [This] is not acceptable.
Bebe Rexha And Ava Max Had Their Experience Before Ballerini
Guys. I know we all mean well. We all want to show Kelsea love the best way we know how, and shower her with all the gifts. Ballerini's hiccup comes shortly after Rexha had to have stitches due to a fan throwing their mobile phone at her, and Ava Max was slapped on stage by a fan mid-performance.
Towards the end of her NYC show, Rexha was unexpectedly hit in the face, on her cheek, just below her left eye, with a phone by one of the many concertgoers in the crowd. As soon as it happened, the Grammy-nominated vocalist backed the group and fell to her knees, bringing the whole show to a halt.
To show support, the crowd began chanting her name, and eventually, fans called for decisive action against the perpetrator. "If I were her, I'd press charges. Take the phone to the police station, and say you were hit with it. Have them unlock it, find the person it belongs to and charge them for assault," one user wrote.
Another just wished for her recovery, writing: "Nah, that's sad. She's been going through so much; prayers for her.."
In another situation, while Max was captivating the audience, an unidentified man abruptly walked on stage to strike her cheek before being swiftly escorted offstage by security personnel.
Although the "Kings & Queens" crooner briefly acknowledged the impact before resuming her dance routine, she took to Twitter later to shed more light on the shocking encounter.
The resilient artist stated: "He slapped me so hard that he scratched the inside of my eye. He's never coming to a show again 😡😡thank you to the fans for being spectacular tonight in LA though!!❤️."
Right after, one loyalist affirmed Max's status as a "true pop star" and conveyed regret that the night ended sourly. Meanwhile, another added, "You deserve so much better❤️ We love you."
