Towards the end of her NYC concert, Bebe Rexha was suddenly hit in the face, on her cheek, just below her left eye, by a phone lobbed by one of the many concertgoers in the crowd.

The Grammy-nominated vocalist looked shell-shocked before she turned away from the crowd and fell to her knees in what seemed like agony, even as shocked crew members rushed to help. The show was halted as the "I'm Good" singer was rushed offstage, as she was spotted clutching her face behind the curtain before the medis led her backstage. The crowd, equally shocked at the turn of events, chanted her name to show support.

Here's one fan video showing Rexha take a hit.

Fans found the act absolutely deplorable and many weighed in with comments about strong action against the perpetrator:

"If I was her I’d press charges. Take the phone to the police station, and say u were hit with it. Have them unlock it, find the person who it belongs to and charge them for assault."

Others just wished for Rexha to recover and hoped she was okay,

"Bebe Rexha really deserves better… between this and the audience not showing any visible signs of care. Like IDC if they paid $6 to come to see her, at the end of the day, they gotta show some respect…"

"Nah that’s really sad. She’s been going through so much, prayers for her.."
