Gabrielle Union recently appeared on the "Skip Intro" podcast with Krista Smith as she spoke about her new Netflix movie, "The Perfect Find." The movie is about Jenna (Gabrielle Union), a former fashion editor trying to make a career comeback after a very public breakup and career downfall. She approaches her frenemy (Gina Torres) for a job only to fall for her much younger coworker (Keith Powers), her boss’ son. The age-gap rom-com is based on Tia Williams' eponymous book.

On the podcast, Union talks about the movie, as well as "breaking ancestral trauma bonds and leaning into self-love" by having conversations with her father. She mentions how her unhealed soul wound from her childhood was something she projected onto every relationship, including professional ones. So finally she asked her father one day, that why, as a child, did he never tell her that she was pretty. Her father answered the question, saying "Pretty does not pay the bills" and spoke about coming from Black people, where looking good never got them anywhere.

Fans supported Gabrielle Union mentioning how Black parents need to do better. Here's a listen...

Gabrielle Union attended the Miami screening of her new movie, "The Perfect Find" which is one stunning dress that features a black bodysuit with cape sleeves in white and a sheer skirt with extra detailing on the hips to truly draw attention.

Celebrities fanned over her dress and confidence as Ashley Graham wrote, "Oh yes the dress" while Taraji P. Henson commented, "Werk!" Janelle Monae also responded with several kiss emojis and plenty of other fans seemed in awe of the nearly gravity-defying nature of the dress.

That said, some did wonder, "Ok this can’t be my Gabrielle. I rebuke it! Where is the back of the outfit?? Why is she wearing a mosquito net?"

One fan decided to call a spade, a spade, commenting, "Idk understand how people have an issue with her outfit.... she looks nice to me. If you take away the sheer skirt part and take away the shoulder part it's a damn swimsuit. And we see people on the beach in exactly that and even more naked, so what's the difference here? The only thing she showing in this dress is a lil butt cheek."

Meanwhile, Gabrielle channeled her inner Connie, captioning the post, "We all got a little “Connie” in us… ??But this Friday 6/23 meet Jenna Jones in ‘The Perfect Find’ only on @Netflix!"

The 50-year-old got several more compliments for her fans and social media followers, many of whom felt she had "still got it" after some tried to troll her for wearing too little for her age.

Wrote one commenter, "Y’all mad you don’t look like this now, much less at 50! ? Go off Gabby girl!! Ain’t nothing wrong with a little reminder! You still got it!!!"

Meanwhile, there's a subtle shout-out to Black Nepotism in the movie, which features an all-black cast, and cameos from several Black celebrities like rap icon Remy Ma, Union’s husband, the NBA legend Dwyane Wade, former NBA wife, La La Anthony, reality TV star Ts Madison, Taraji P Henson as a mention, Janet Hubert, and even director Numa Perrier.

This is one movie all about Black power, Black love, and it is edgier than average for Netflix, given the age-gap love shown. Gabrielle Union-Wade is certainly living it up and doing it all rather well, and looking fabulous as she does it.
