Are Rob And Vanessa Circling The Drain Already On 'Temptation Island'?

To say things are already heating up on season 5 of "Temptation Island" might be an understatement. Some of the couples are starting to slowly unravel, but one couple that definitely appears to be on the fast track to single life is Rob and Vanessa.

They came in strong in episode 1 with their arguing. While Rob said he's "ride or die," he's also annoyed that he has to have her back when she's clearly in the wrong. And while episode 2 didn't have any issues between the two of them, Rob's complete meltdown is a telltale sign that there's quite a few deep issues he needs to fully unpack and address with his relationship with Vanessa.

During the first episode, viewers saw a side to Vanessa and Rob's relationship that maybe no one expected to see until later in the season.

"Everyone is having a good time and you're the only one in the corner," Rob said, to which Vanessa quickly replied, "And I'm the only one that you should be worried about.  F*** what everybody else is doing. I'm the only one that you need to be like yo, what's going on, everything cool? You know what I'm saying. Have my f***ing back."

Rob explained that he'll "ride or die" for her but "it's annoying to have your back when I know you're in the wrong."

Vanessa said it's embarrassing and Rob continued to explain he didn't want them to be THAT couple. Vanessa got more heated, and the convo just didn't take a better turn at all while they were fighting in the kitchen with everyone else in the adjacent room.

Fans on TemptationTV's Instagram page shared mixed emotions about who was in the wrong.

"This kid is way too young for her. Yep I said kid 🤣 she needs a man her age for sure," one fan wrote. Another said, "He needs to find a new woman. Happy hunting young man."  And another fan added, "He has a point but should still have her back in front of others but correct her in private."

In the second episode of the new season, Rob gave some insight into how his relationship with Vanessa has been going. During a little party session in the pool with the rest of the occupants of the guy's villa, he lashed out when Nafeesah cut him off mid-sentence.

As he's chatting about Vanessa, it begins to become emotionally charged.

"Vanessa is always embarrassing me. She's always off her temper. I feel like I have to apologize to people for her temper, for her anger," he said.

"So yesterday, I was holding back and the day before, before we met y'all, I was holding back as well because I was protecting her."

As he began to start his next sentence, Nafeesah cut him off to ask a question and Rob lashed out.

"I don't like being cut off," he angrily said. Hall jumped in to say, "Because Vanessa would cut you off like a mother****er all the time," to which Rob agreed.

As he continued to open up, Nafeesah once again jumped in and interrupted him mid-sentence which just set him off even more.

"You're talking over me and I'm done with being talked over," he said sternly. "Like, I have a hard time talking about my emotions, talking about my feelings, like literally, before this, I never talked like this."

He then explained that talking about his emotions is new territory for him and it's not easy.

"So, when I say don't cut me off, don't cut me off," he explained.

In a confessional, he dove deeper into the issues explaining that Vanessa is constantly speaking over him and he's "not being heard" or "appreciated."
