Drew Barrymore is one of the few celebs who truly light up lives, even as she makes her own life struggles privy to all to let her fans and followers know that she's not alone. Recently though, she seems to have had a tough couple of weeks after certain comments of her about her strained relationship with her mother were misconstrued.

In an interview with NY Magazine, Barrymore talked about her estranged relationship with her mother who was also her manager back when Barrymore rose to epic heights as a child star.

While reflecting on how her mother’s existence was almost like an obstacle to her healing, Barrymore mentioned that she doesn’t have the "luxury" of moving on compared to people whose parents have already died, saying, "I cannot wait. I don’t want to live in a state where I wish someone to be gone sooner than they’re meant to be so I can grow. I actually want her to be happy and thrive and be healthy. But I have to… grow in spite of her being on this planet."

Some of these comments were taken out of context by factions of the media and it was reported that the 48-year-old wanted her mother, Jaid, to die. The "50 First Dates" actress took to her Instagram to blast "the tabloids" who reported this in a strongly worded video:

The "Charlie's Angel" star posted a sweet carousel on Instagram that began with an adorable childhood photo of her and went on to show plenty of other pictures and videos which she liked.

She captioned the carousel, writing, "Last carousel for the summer… I want to thank everyone for making this feed such a loving place. A safe space like on the show. It’s just very humorous and kind. My two favorite things in this life. I’m going to take a social media break for the summer. I used to do it all the time. And it’s so healthy for the soul. I’m going to go on some adventures. See what I find. No matter what I discover and stumble upon in this world... I do love sharing it."

She then reassured her fans that she would be back soon, writing, "I feel so lucky that we all can all be connected. Thank you to anyone who gives me space in their field. Ok. Now go out and have the summer of your life. I will be working on the next issue of @drewmagazine and … I’ll see you in the fall for @thedrewbarrymoreshow season 4!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

The good news, we get to see the fourth season of "The Drew Barrymore Show" which is an audience favorite simply for how sweetly she interacts with the audience.

Of course, her fans egged her on, loving the fact that she was taking out time for herself while telling her that she would be missed because she makes them smile. Funnily enough, it was the David Bowie snippet she posted that got the most attention (here, slide 8). Shot back in 1999 at the cusp of the Internet revolution, Bowie explains how it's the most exhilarating but terrifying thing and the good and the bad that will come out if it would be unimaginable. He was also on point when he called it an "alien life form", no?

Can we have a hug too, Drew?
