Eva Longoria Overflows With Joy As Son Turns 5: 'Another Year Of Happiness'

Beloved Hollywood actress and activist Eva Longoria recently shared her overflowing joy as she celebrated her son, Santiago.

The doting mother took to social media to express her gratitude and reflect on the incredible journey of raising her little bundle of joy as he marks another trip around the sun.

This is remarkable as the 48-year-old stated that she was never "focused on" having a baby. 

Longoria has always been open about her love for her son, Santiago. Hence, she couldn't contain her excitement when her baby boy turned five. The "Desperate Housewives" alum took to her Instagram account to share her immense joy with fans and followers.

Her heartfelt message painted a beautiful picture of their bond and the happiness that grows with each passing year. The "Eva Longoria: Searching for Mexico" host posted a video spliced with memories of her playing and bonding with Santiago since his birth featuring a mash-up of Israel Kamakawiwo'ole's timeless tunes, "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" and "What A Wonderful World."

Snapshots included the five-year-old learning to ride a bike, cook, and travel with his loving mummy. "Another year of happiness, laughter, and joy with this little human. I didn't know this amount of love could exist. Happy birthday, papa, I love you soooooo much! ?", she captioned the post.

Longoria's heartfelt message resonated with her 9.4 million followers, as many fans wished her son a happy birthday while praising her for her dedication and love as a mother. 

Fashion designer Victoria Beckham comments, "Happy birthday Santi!!! We love you!!!!! Xxx ❤️.”  A fan complimented the actress saying, "Motherhood looks amazing on you. So cute ?????". Her biggest fan, Ross Hardie, praised Longoria and Baston for their parenting skills. "He has the absolute best, most amazing parents he could ask for! And I am so thankful to have so many wonderful memories with you all!"

The "Desperate Housewives" alum welcomed her only child, Santiago Enrique Bastón, 5, with her husband, José Antonio "Pepe" Bastón, on June 19, 2018. The couple, who married in 2016, announced they were expecting a boy in December 2017. After welcoming Santiago and becoming a mother, Longoria's life changed for good.

According to the award-winning producer, the experience has taught her to be more patient. In an interview with Distractify, the famed director stated, "I consider myself to be patient, but like, when you have kids, it tests your patience."

In addition, she learned how to find the balance between "stepping back" and letting your child explore and "be who he is going to be" while also still "putting up the guardrails." As for the values she would love to instill in her son, Longoria stated that it is philanthropy and giving back to her community.

"You can't tell your kids to be philanthropic, but you can show them," she said. She praised her mum for instilling a philanthropic mindset in the lives of her and her sisters, Esmeralda, Elizabeth, and Emily. 

This is not the first time the Mexican national shows off the love and bond with her son. Earlier in March, Longoria delighted her followers with an image that showcased her son wrapping his tiny arms around her while they exchanged silly faces.

The adorable preschooler wore a light blue hoodie, navy blue pants, and stylish black and white sneakers. "The Overboard" actress sat before a vanity, wearing a black long-sleeve top with her hair flowing down her neck, exuding effortless beauty.

The photo's background suggested that they were in a dressing room, as hair and beauty products adorned the front of the dressing mirror where they posed. Additionally, a clothing rack stood at the far right of the room, adding to the behind-the-scenes atmosphere.

Before this heartwarming update, the talented actress embarked on a memorable mother-son trip to Paris, where they had the opportunity to explore the enchanting Disneyland theme parks. Longoria shared captivating photos on Instagram, capturing their joyous moments alongside the iconic "Sleeping Beauty" villain, Maleficent.
