No one was a prouder dad of Father's Day than Maksim Chmerkovskiy as he welcomed his second baby with his wife, Peta Murgatroyd.
It is a moment of glee and excitement as the pro-dancer couple revealed the happy news that they're now the parents of two boys after Murgatroyd gave birth on Sunday, June 18, just in time for Father's Day. The doting father-of-two reveals his bundle of joy to the public and formally introduces him with a loving photo of the dad and son duo.
Maksim Chmerkovskiy Shares First Official Picture Of Newborn Son
The "Dancing With the Stars" dancers — who are also parents to 6-year-old son Shai— have been overwhelmed with joy before and after they became a family of four, and of course, Chmerkovskiy could not wait for the world to see his precious little one.
In a new post to his Instagram page, the Latin ballroom dance champion shared the baby's first photo, with his face blurred out. The post, accompanied by Etta James' song, "At Last," saw the loving dad holding and staring affectionately at his newborn wrapped in a pastel blue blanket. He donned a white polo shirt and let his black hair spike around.
Happy Father's Day to me! #MadeInPeta," the Ukrainian-American captioned the photo. Sure enough, after his heartwarming announcement, many DWTS alums and friends shared their congrats in the comments.
"How perfect ♥️ ♥️," Murgatroyd's BFF, Sharna Burgess, replied, while Amanda Kloots wrote, "Wow, what a day! What a gift!" Emma Slater penned, "OMG YESSSSSS!!!!!!!!! On Father's Day!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️."
One other fan commented, "Hard to top this Father's Day gift! 😍 congrats, guys! Meanwhile, another person typed, "Happy Father's Day, Maks! What a gift! What a blessing!! [I] Hope Peta is doing well. Shai is going to be the best big brother ever! [four red heart emojis]"
Chmerkovskiy shared another post to his Insta Story showing his wife on the hospital bed awaiting delivery to give fans a peek into how the birthing process started. The clip started with him saying, "Hola Everybody," and then heavily pregnant Murgatroyd wiggled her hands around to sing, "We are having a baby."
Afterward, the "DWTS" season 22 winner shared that she couldn't walk or talk after she went into labor, which caused her and Chmerkovskiy to rush to the hospital immediately.
Before her son's delivery, the "Faith, Hope & Love" actress documented her pregnancy journey on social media by incorporating her love of dance in adorable family videos and shipping off helpful tips for all new and intending mothers.
Days ago, she shared a vital tip she used for her first child, known as "Cold Blood Banking," for other mothers and moms-to-be. The "Burn the Floor" star took time to explain the procedure and how it can benefit her admirers. She said:
"It's the process of extracting the blood that remains in the baby's umbilical cord after you give birth. You extract the blood, [and] freeze it because it has a lot of amazing stem cells in it. And then you can store it for potential medical use."
She then briefly talked about her experience with her firstborn, Shai, and disclosed that "his blood has been banking for six years." Later, Murgatroyd concluded the PSA by saying, "The blood can be used to treat diseases that harm the blood and immune system like Leukaemia, certain cancers, sickle cells, anemia, and some metabolic disorders."
Afterward, Murgatroyd recommended that her fans sign up for "Vicord" to help with the blood-storing technique, as also she intends to use them for her second delivery.
Maksim Chmerkovskiy Outs Wife's Teary Reaction When He Leaves Home
Like his wife, the "Forever Tango" star, in the past few weeks before his second son's birth, used his Instagram handle to keep fans in the loop of all information concerning his family, especially his pregnant wife.
The professional choreographer revealed a crybaby scenario — "per usual" when he was "off to Napa." The 43-year-old posted a snapshot featuring the adorable sweethearts kissing while their six-year-old smiled at the camera.
In the 'bye for now' caption he penned to his family, Chmerkovskiy started gushing over them. He also noted that Shai was "left to hold it down" while he went away— an assignment the little one is "taking literally by holding mommy's belly," the doting father claimed.
Then he veers around to poke a little fun at how Murgatroyd gets teary-eyed when he goes shopping. The Dance Team USA creator and director wrote, "@petamurgatroyd is in tears. As per usual. Sometimes she tears up when I go to get groceries, so this is a big one 😢."
Concluding the text, he jotted down his reaction when he took the trip, writing, "Me: I'm gooooooood! Also, me: [sobbing and listening to @sade for the entire 6[-]hour drive], [followed by three crying emoticons.]
