SZA Speaks Out On Lizzo's Behalf
On Tuesday, SZA took to Twitter to rant about the high levels of fat shaming against fellow singer Lizzo. The singer wrote that it's essential for people to "practice kindness" when they make comments about others on social media.
I be wondering where all the virtue signaling ,well spoken shit talking , internet warriors are when someone genuine needs defending . Where the fuck do y’all be at for lizzo ? Do y’all actually know how to support others or only tear them down 🤔

Her tweet read, "I will be wondering where all the virtue signaling, well-spoken s**t talking, internet warriors are when someone genuine needs defending. Where the f**K do you all be at for Lizzo? Do you all know how to support others or only tear them down?"
Lizzo Recently Talked About Being Bullied Online
In May, Lizzo took to Twitter to respond to people criticizing her weight and eating habits. The "Am I Ready" singer wrote that she is trying to "live and be healthy" and is tired of being body-shamed.
Her tweet read, "I JUST logged on, and the app and this is the type of s**t I see about me daily. It's starting to make me hate the world." Lizzo shared that she "stopped eating fast food years ago" and is tired of "explaining myself all the time."
She further wrote, "I'm not trying to BE fat. I'm not trying to BE smaller. I'm just trying to live and be healthy. My body looks like this even when I'm eating super clean and working out! Yall speak on s**t you know NOTHING ABOUT, and I'm starting to get heated."
The "Truth Hurts" singer also wrote that the love she receives "definitely does not outweigh the hate on social media." Lizzo threatened to give up on her music career and enjoy her "money and man on a F**KING FARM."
Fans React To SZA's Message Of Support For Lizzo
After SZA made her tweets criticizing Lizzo's haters, multiple fans responded to the tweet and expressed surprise that people don't defend Lizzo. In response, SZA tweeted, "NOT EF***INGNUFF. For as much free love, encouragement, and positivity as she embodies and shares on every app daily? The ratios don't add up."
The "Good Days" singer tweeted, "I also deaf who disagree. It's been on my mind for a minute .. makes me upset." She further urged people to be kinder to others and "shut tf up more often cause GADDAMN IT'S UGLY OUTSIDE ALREADY. Why add?"
Although the singer limited the comments section of her tweet, thousands of fans quoted the messages with their opinions. According to People magazine, one quote read, "I love and admire both of these women, and I appreciate SZA having Lizzo's back." Another read, "She gon step behind Rizzo every time. Love that for them."
A supporter wrote, "The amount of people who send hate to that woman when she doesn't bother anyone is concerning. The fat phobia is so embedded into these losers they can't even see how insane they look coming for her."
The Two Singers Are Friends And Have Worked Together
Lizzo and SZA are more than just good friends; they've also collaborated on a song. Earlier this year, the "Good as Hell" singer featured SZA on a remix of her single, "Special," a self-love anthem.
The song includes lyrics about being kind to others, reminding them of their excellent qualities, and feeling judged for being true to yourself. In the remix, the two women sing, per People, "You just lack empathy 'cause you think it gives you power. All I know is only God can judge me / I don't hide my heart, I wear it on me."
Earlier this week, Lizzo and SZA were also announced as the headlining performers at JAY-Z's upcoming "Made in America Festival."
