Model Ireland Baldwin is trying to delete her Instagram account after welcoming her first child with her longtime boyfriend, RAC.
The 27-year-old of actor Alec Baldwin and actress Kim Basinger took to her Instagram Stories to reveal that she tried - and failed - to delete her Instagram account after taking down many of her post-pregnancy photos.
Ireland Baldwin Deletes Post-Pregnancy Photos After Trying - And Failing - To Delete Instagram
Early Thursday morning, the aspiring screenwriter shared a message with her 674 thousand Instagram followers, announcing that she was trying to delete her Instagram account. Fans were quick to notice that the photos that she posted of her first child – a daughter named Holland – were all missing from her account, as well as photos of her nursery.
“So… looks like I can’t delete my account lol. Instagram forces you to request account deletion and I can’t even figure out how to do that,” she wrote in her Instagram Stories. "So, do I just post naked bodies until it finally deleted itself? Anyways, I guess I’ll stay until I figure out something clever to do here…"
She followed it up with another screenshot from her phone that made it look like she was paying $14.99 per month for a subscription to Instagram Premium. “THE LOOPS you have to jump through to delete your Instagram account,” she wrote. “OK FINE I’ll stay but this is a food account now.”
Fans are probably looking forward to the food, as Ireland and RAC opened a restaurant in Gearhart, Oregon, earlier this year. The restaurant, called Good Times, features substantial gluten-free offerings, as Ireland revealed in a previous Instagram post showing the menu that one of the chefs is celiac.
Ireland Wanted To Make Her Instagram 'Private' Following Unwelcome Pregnancy Advice
In April, Ireland took to her Instagram Stories to share a frightening experience that she had after a stranger contacted her on Instagram to express concerns about her health.
Ireland, who was still pregnant at the time, was at a fair with RAC and their dogs when a woman who claimed to work in labor and delivery at the University of Washington expressed concerns about preeclampsia and encouraged her to check her blood pressure.
Ireland rushed home in order to check her blood pressure and shared a photo of her results with her Instagram followers, assuring them that she was fine.
“So naturally in a panic I run to go check my blood pressure because as someone who struggles with health anxiety, of course I listen to a random on Instagram who scared me… and here we are,” she added.
Following the health scare, Ireland told her followers that she “decided to keep the remainder of my pregnancy as private as possible as well as my daughter/her life and all of the things.” She went on to say, “I shared tidbits here and there because I enjoyed connecting with people, feeling less alone at times, etc… but social media makes me miserable.”
“You can only block so many frightening/judgmental/deranged/low lifes in a day. I completely respect and understand why people don’t share their kids now or their relationships or anything for that matter," she continued. "Instagram, Tik Tok, it’s all a toxic pit of nothingness.”
“Will consider posting on a private account and refocusing this account into my work/my sh*tposts/making people laugh,” she concluded. However, Ireland took to Instagram shortly after the first of her first baby in May to share a photo of her holding her newborn, making sure to conceal her face.
Since that time, Ireland had shared several humorous updates about her life, including a photo that featured her lying in a bathtub holding up a can of Sprite. She captioned the photo, “The photo I’m going to show my daughter when she back talks.” The photo has since been deleted.
She also deleted an Instagram post where she got candid about her first pregnancy, admitting that she “really struggled” both physically and mentally and opened up on her struggles with anxiety. Although the post has also been deleted, her full comments can be read here.
