Britney Spears Recalls ‘Skinny Dipping In The Oceans’ Before Conservatorship

Singer Britney Spears is remembering what her life was like in the good old days before she was subject to a conservatorship for over a decade.

The now 41-year-old pop star was in a conservatorship from February 2008 before a judge struck it down in November 2021. During that time, she was not allowed to drink coffee or drive a car by herself, among other things.

Before her conservatorship, however, the "Hold Me Closer" singer revealed that she used to cut loose and would like to reconnect with some old friends that she has lost since the conservatorship.

On Wednesday night, the "Toxic" singer took to Instagram to share a video of her dancing "with my handsome friend Cade." Although it's a bit dark in the video to tell for sure, it looks like Britney is referring to her longtime manager, Cade Hudson, who she just took a trip to Mexico with earlier this year.

"I saw this today and cried like a baby !!!" Britney said of the video. "I think it was my second year working in Vegas !!! Of course I was never allowed to drink with my crew so I never went out really !!! People won’t believe me but in 4 years I went out 3 times !!! New Year’s Party one year … and the last show party !!! Obviously all I’ve ever known is to work ??? !!!"

"The one thing I remembered from my first few tours before the conservatorship was how I got to feel like a sexy sassy pants and dance all night in every city !!!" she revealed. "Skinny dipping in the oceans with my dancers !!! And my best friend embarrassing the sh*t out of us peeing in a plant by the elevator because she couldn’t wait ??? !!!"

"The shows felt better because we were deeper in our bodies and we felt it with every piece of sweat coming out of our pores !!! I was always so jealous in Vegas because my one dancer Mikey who was my best dancer … I could always tell when he had partied the night before because he was electric on stage !!! Guess he was feeling himself !!!" she added. "Please come party with me now Mikey !!! I miss them so !!!"

"And even though there were no crazy drinking nights for 13 years … I still have the most wicked cool memories from before !!! Remember all things wicked come from innocence !!!" she continued. "I get to go to Vegas and be wicked like my mom now !!! JUST SAYING !!!"

Britney then went back to reference the video that she posted. "This night is me here with my handsome friend Cade who I love and adore !!! He made feel like such a woman !!!" she wrote before making sure it was clear: "Psss this is not a memoir. I am not dead people !!! This is a flashback to remind me to get my a** on the dance floor and shake my a** !!! PSSS I’m an equal American citizen now !!! I can go to spas now too !!!"

This new throwback comes only one day after the "Slumber Party" singer posted - then deleted - a video of her dancing in Maui last year. In the caption, she told her followers that she had "quit the business," although since she deleted her message, it is possible that she changed her mind.

“This is a repost from Maui last year !!! I know it’s not that great BUT the song is my favorite song I’ve ever done !!!" Britney wrote in the caption of the deleted post. "It was really weird because my dancers took the stage for this song ? !!! Oh well !!!”

“I listened to this song today and actually realized it for the first time ?????? !!! I guess it was all those rules you know !!! Guess all those rules and not having a voice for 13 years in what I wanted [to give] a lot of people a thrill ride !!!” she continued.

“Oh well !!! Psss no wonder I quit the business JUST SAYING !!!" she concluded. "But I’m going to London next week to go shopping ?️ so things aren’t too shabby !!!”
