Lance Bass Explains Why Britney Spears Never Met His Kids

Singer Britney Spears, who shares two boys of her own with her ex-husband Kevin Federline, reportedly "flaked" when she had a chance to meet the children of former boy-bander Lance Bass.
The former member of NSYNC, 44, recently revealed that the 41-year-old pop star “flaked” on him when she was supposed to meet the two twins he shares with his husband, Michael Turchin.

On Monday, the pop icon revealed that the "Hold Me Closer" singer never met his children in an episode of his iHeart Radio podcast, Frosted Tips. While interviewing music manager Johnny Wright, Bass said, "She has reached out through her people, wanting to meet the kids and all that."
The meeting, which was supposed to happen during her conservatorship, was apparently canceled as her team put a "stop" to the meeting. He said it was "very strange" trying to communicate with the pop star, explaining, "You have to talk through people."
Britney's conservatorship lasted from February 2008 to November 2021, when it was struck down by a judge. Bass became a father just a month before in October 2021 when he and his husband Michael Turchin welcomed a son named Alexander and a daughter named Violet by surrogate.
Bass went on to say that "I don't know how she is" and went on to say that he can't imagine her never taking to the stage and performing again, describing her as a "competitive person."
Although her conservatorship is over now and Britney can meet his children whenever she wants to, Lance revealed last year that the two are still not in contact.
Lance Bass Is Apparently Still Not In Contact With Britney
Judging by his latest remarks, it seems that the NSYNC alum hasn't had any contact with Britney Spears since her conservatorship ended. In June 2022, at the Vanderpump Dog Foundation’s sixth annual World Dog Day in West Hollywood, California, Bass told Page Six that he has tried to reach out to the singer since her conservatorship ended.
When asked if they had been in contact, he answered, “Not at all.” He said that, even though her conservatorship is over, there is still “a wall around her,” adding, “And for some reason, those people don’t want her old friends involved with her life.”
The two have known each other for decades and used to be close when Britney was dating his bandmate, Justin Timberlake. However, in a July 2021 podcast interview, he admitted that he hadn’t talked to the singer “in years.”
“We’ve been kept away from each other for quite a while,” he said at the time, noting that the last time that they saw each other was in 2016. Considering that Britney is actually his sixth cousin once removed, fans are hoping that there will eventually be a family reunion soon.
Britney Spears Recently Had A Small Family Reunion With Her Estranged Mother
In late May, Britney's estranged mother, Lynne Spears, hopped on a flight from Louisiana to Los Angeles in order to visit her daughter. The meeting reportedly took place at Britney's home, where Lynne spoke with both Britney and her husband, Sam Asghari.
Lynne was not present at Britney's June 2022 wedding to the Iranian actor, nor was most of her family members. Not even her two sons were at the star-studded affair, which featured a guest list that included Madonna, Selena Gomez, Paris Hilton, and more.
Shortly after the visit, the pop star took to Instagram to share a childhood photo of herself in a pink tutu. "My sweet mama showed up at my door step yesterday after 3 years … it’s been such a long time … with family there’s always things that need to be worked out … but time heals all wounds !!!" she wrote in the caption.
"And after being able to communicate what I’ve held in for an extremely long time, I feel so blessed we were able to try to make things RIGHT !!! I love ? you so much !!!" she concluded. "Psss… I’m so blessed we can have coffee together after 14 years !!! Let’s go shopping afterwards !!!"
It seems that the ice is also beginning to thaw between Britney and her two sons: Sean, 17, and Jayden, 16. Although Britney hasn't seen them in over a year, she did give them permission to move to Hawaii with her ex-husband, Kevin Federline.
Although his wife, former volleyball star Victoria Prince, reportedly got a job at a university in Hawaii, some fans speculate that K-Fed is only trying to move to Hawaii now in order to get more child support out of the rings.
