Lance Bass Says He Still Can't Contact Britney Spears After Conservatorship

Singer Britney Spears may not be as free as many initially suspected. Although a judge struck down Britney's almost 14-year conservatorship late last year, it seems that some of her former friends have not been able to get in touch with her in the months since it ended.

Former *NSYNC boy bander Lance Bass is one such person. Although Britney's conservative ended in November 2021, Bass answered "not at all" when asked if he has been in contact with the 90s pop singer.

On Saturday, at the Vanderpump Dog Foundation’s sixth annual World Dog Day in West Hollywood, California, Bass told Page Six that he doesn’t think the “Gimme More” singer is as free as she seems.

While talking to the outlet over the weekend, Lance Bass insisted that he's tried to reach out to Britney in the months following the end of her conservatorship. He says that, even though the conservatorship is over, there is still "a wall around her."

He continued, "And for some reason, those people don’t want her old friends involved with her life."

As the outlet reported, Bass, 43, and Spears, 40, have known each other since the 90s. After all, Britney used to date Bass' former bandmate, "Cry Me A River" singer Justin Timberlake.

Britney and Bass were reportedly so close that he even reportedly confided in her that he was gay years before he came out to the public.

In July 2021, a few months before the conservatorship ended, Lance Bass took part in a podcast interview, where he claimed that he hadn’t seen or talked to the "Oops!... I Did It Again" singer "in years."

At the time, Bass explained, "We’ve been kept away from each other for quite a while." He went on to say that the last time they saw each other was in 2016 - almost six years ago.

Britney has become more than just a friend to Bass. She's family. Late last year, Bass learned that Britney is actually his sixth cousin once removed, to the surprise of many.

It remains to be seen when the next family reunion will be. Bass told the outlet, "I just wish her luck."

It seems he's been keeping an eye on her social media pages. Although he didn't comment on all the photos that Britney has shared in her birthday suit, he did say, "She seems very happy, so I’m happy that she’s happy."

As The Blast previously reported, Lance Bass is now a father to twins. He told Page Six that raising his two bundles of joy is actually "a lot easier than I thought." He added, "And I hate to say that, ’cause I know a lot of parents out there will want to slap me, but it is."

He said that his twins have "been so good. They're good babies."

Although Bass admitted that he and husband Michael Turchin are "tired as h---," Bass said that his twins - daughter Violet Betty and son Alexander James, 7 months - have brought the couple "closer together."

Now it just remains to be seen when Britney Spears will finally get to meet his twins!
