Fans Flood Eva Mendes With Questions On Her Experience With 'Dermaplaning'

Eva Mendes is loud and proud about one of her secrets to flawless skin — dermaplaning — which piques the interest of fans.

"The Place Beyond the Pines" actor has always been candid about her beauty technique and secrets, including how she sustains a glowing and flawless complexion. Now, Mendes uses new updates—via Instagram—to break the stigma of women shaving their faces.

On Monday, the entrepreneur shared a look inside her spa day dedicated to skincare and revealed that she shaves her face. The video showed Mendes getting a medley of pampered cosmetic treatments from highly trained professionals on a spa bed. The model and fashion designer's caption read:

"Loving my day at the [Beauty Villa Vergara medical spa] ... Heaven! Once I arrived, I talked to the talented [Dr. Mariana Vergara] about my current needs. We decided to start with dermaplaning, followed by her famous Diamond Peel, then some much needed oxygen and a relaxing sheet mask, all while getting a much needed [Priscilla Legaspi] pedicure." 

Fans commenting on the video appeared to fixate on the hair shaving, prompting them to ask Mendes various questions. "I'm so curious about the dermaplaning. Did you like it? Did you even notice a difference?" one person asked.

Another asked, "? so bold of you to try the shave. I've been observing it for a while. Does it itch? Does it grow back thicker and prickly ? i have so many questions, but i like how to clean your face looks afterwards."

Motivated by all the buzz over the original post, the 49-year-old addressed the procedure she goes through with a follow-up post that showed some close-up snapshots of her face.

Shaving my face!" the "Last Night" actress wrote before addressing fans' curiosity, writing, "I received a lot of comments on yesterday's post from women who've been shaving their face for years-ok. I guess 'dermaplaning' is the preferred word, but it is what it is, and I LOVE it!"

Mendes received hundreds of comments from interested fans with questions about her experience. She responded to many, including one from a commenter who asked how often she gets the treatment. "I'm a beast, so I probably need every other day! Ha. My hair grows back if I get chills," she replied.

When another commenter asked Mendes if she saw a difference in how her skin feels after the treatment, she replied, "Yes…makeup and moisturizer goes on much smoother. I'm hairy [though]. My Cuban Papi is a man bear, and I'm his mini me."

"The Other Guys" actor often gives her Instagram followers an intimate peek at her beauty treatments and fashion choices. Late last year, she switched from her signature golden brown looks to a reddish hairdo. In the zoomed-in selfie she posted, the "Hitch" actress elucidated her vibrant red hair and stunning skin, giving a sly, alluring stare to pull the attraction for her followers.

Her full lips were laced with light pink lipstick, while her black brows were neatly groomed, with reflection shining through her eyeballs. Mendes captioned the post, "Mira esto! I want red," which translates to "Look at this." 

Though the "Out of Time" actor is open about her beauty secret, she is pretty guarded about her romantic life with Ryan Gosling— the father of her two daughters. The Hollywood couple has kept their relationship relatively private, seldom appearing together publicly. In a previous post, the actress highlighted why they avoid certain occasions together.

She posted a clip from their 2011 movie, "The Place Beyond the Pines," their sole on-screen collaboration. After making mention of the obvious chemistry they shared when filming in the caption, a fan expressed optimism, writing:

"Eva, I want to be honest w u, but I hope Barbie will get through the Awards Season just to see you w Ryan. I know I'm selfish and probably a dreamer, but I will never stop to dream about it!! ????????.” 

The mother-of-two explained why they shouldn't expect such an occurrence, stating, "You're the best! What a cool comment; thank you. But we don't do those things together." She added, "Like these photos I've been posting, I'm only comfortable posting because it's already out there. ♥️.”

The star clarified further by emphasizing, "Oh wait -for those who may catch me in a "lie" -we only were on the red carpet together once when promoting this film ?."

The "Guilty Hearts" actress was then asked by another follower why she was not comfortable, to which she replied, "By 'not comfortable,' I mean exposing the very private life that we value. I'm dying to do another movie with him, though…♥️."
