Nick Cannon is facing backlash for allegedly faking having a relationship with one of his daughters, Onyx Ice Cole Cannon.
The multi-hyphenate star, infamously known for welcoming twelve children with six different women, is no stranger to being blasted by fans. However, his connection to LaNisha Cole and their child recently raised several eyebrows.
Speculations about the former couple's rocky relationship resurfaced after the Nickelodeon alum forgot his daughter's name on a radio show. Now, the media personality's followers are dragging his image through the mud for his latest tribute to the little girl.
Fans Call Out Nick Cannon For Having Favorites Over An Old Picture Of His Daughter Onyx
Over the weekend, the rapper-turned-actor updated his Instagram page with two stunning pictures of his daughter. The images were taken from a fantastic photoshoot that captured the little girl living her best life.
The first snap showed Onyx resting on a gray baby cushion, dressed comfortably in a white bathrobe. The little girl had a matching white towel wrapped around her head, giving off the illusion of a spa day with fake cucumber slices on her eyes.
The make-believe pampering session was completed with a toy foot bath by the baby's feet, which were adorned in tiny Gucci slippers. The next image showed the "Gigolo" artist's daughter in the same garments, but she had traded the cucumbers for a small Starbucks cup and a stack of cash in her hands.
Instead of a foot bath, the photoshoot's props had been changed to a toy laptop with the Apple logo, which was placed on top of a stack of books. "Young Onyx is a whole vibe this weekend!" the proud father of twelve captioned the post adding a red heart and prayer hand emojis.
Although the pictures radiated cuteness and seemingly depicted the TV personality's love for his daughter, his followers were not impressed. Those familiar with Cannon and Cole's relationship knew that the former couple's daughter was no longer the newborn shown in the snaps.

"Uhmmmm…. That picture was taken a long time ago. Smh. I follow Ms. Cole's IG," a disappointed fan revealed, echoing similar sentiments with another eagle-eyed fan. "How old is the picture? Isn't Onyx closer to 1 yr old?" the individual pointed out.
"This is not a recent pic of Onyx," a third cried while a fourth chimed: "Oh, this the baby name he forgot. Now he wanna post her." A fellow Cole supporter did not find the throwback post amusing, and they called Cannon out for being jealous.
"This picture didn't come from 'this weekend,' nor were you with that child 'this weekend.' Triggered by LaNisha's Happy in Love post, lol," the person claimed. More critics supported the speculations about the 42-year-old's poor relationship with his daughter.
"Probably the last time he saw Onyx coz these photos are quite old," a social media user penned, while someone teased the San Diego native of having favorites within his large brood. "That baby so big now, smh. Post something current. Lol, you can't! #nickgotfavorites," the fan declared.
Despite the backlash, a few tried defending the "Real Husbands of Hollywood" alum, with one supporter claiming the NAACP Image Award recipient's message had been misunderstood. The IG user's comment read:
"I interpreted the caption as: young Onyx (this photo) was his mood this weekend…. Not that he took this picture this weekend. Idk what the fuss is about."
LaNisha Cole Shows Daughter Love After The 'Drumline' Star Forgot Her Name
A month before Cannon made Onyx the center of attention on his Instagram page, Cole honored the little angel with a passionate declaration of love after the "America's Got Talent" host forgot their daughter's name in a now-viral moment.
Taking to her Instagram Story, the model shared a video of Onyx in what appeared to be the little girl's room, given the various toys and baby items in the background. The child was standing, using the cushion behind her to balance her unsteady feet.
Seemingly addressing the moment the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Award winner forgot their daughter's name, the proud mother of one declared she would always ensure Onyx knew she was loved.
“My whole world… the most beautiful little girl,” the Pasadena native raved in the caption. “I will do everything I can every single day to make sure she knows how special she is and how much I love and adore her.”
As mentioned above, Cannon forgot about Onyx's existence during an appearance on Howard Stern’s eponymous radio show. The 42-year-old attempted to list his children’s names according to their birthdays but accidentally omitted his daughter's name.
