It seems that singer Britney Spears and her mother Lynne Spears are attempting to make amends.

The 41-year-old pop star's mother was being seen leaving the home of Britney's manager, Cade Hudson, before Britney reportedly welcomed her into the home that she shares with her husband, Iranian actor Sam Asghari.

On Wednesday, Britney's mother Lynne Spears reportedly flew to LAX from Louisiana in order to visit Britney at her home in California. The "Hold Me Closer" singer has been pretty vocal on Instagram about the abuse she alleges she suffered during her 13-year conservatorship, which lasted from February 2008 to November 2021.

Although most of her anger seems to be directed towards her father, Britney gave the rest of her family the cold shoulder, as there were no family members reportedly present at her June wedding to actor Sam Asghari last year, which also took place in the backyard of her Thousand Oaks estate.

It appears that the meeting might have been at least partially arranged by Britney's manager, Cade Hudson, as Lynne reportedly was driven to his home before she took an Uber to meet with Britney inside her Los Angeles home. Although sources told TMZ that Britney didn't know "exactly when" Lynne was coming, she knew she was in town with the intention of seeing her.

Fortunately, the pop star didn't turn away her mother away at the gate and insiders told the outlet that they spent about two and a half hours talking inside before Lynne left. Sam was also reportedly present at the home, but it's not clear how much he took part in the mother-daughter reunion.

Insiders also told the outlet that the relationship between Britney and her mother has been getting better in recent months, as the two had been texting. It seems like things are in a better place between the two, considering her mother made the trip all the way from Louisiana to California in order to visit her daughter.

After her mother left, sources said that Britney and Sam both went off for a long drive before returning home. It's not clear what Britney and Sam discussed, but one insider revealed that her mother is "committed to making it right with her daughter" and it looks like she is off to a good start.

In an Instagram post from August 2022, Lynne Spears took to social media to share a photograph of her posing alongside her daughter. The two seem to be smiling and laughing as they pose together in a wooded area.

“Britney, your whole life I have tried my best to support your dreams and wishes! And also, I have tried my best to help you out of hardships! I have never and will never turn my back on you!” she wrote in the caption. “Your rejections to the countless times I have flown out and calls make me feel hopeless! I have tried everything. I love you so much, but this talk is for you and me only , eye to eye, in private.”

Lynne's Instagram post came shortly after the "Toxic" singer shared a 22-minute video on YouTube to tell her story "openly." Although she began the video by admitting that she has received plenty of offers for interviews, she wanted to share her story directly with her fans to help them feel less "alone" in their own struggles.

Britney spoke extensively about her conservatorship, noting that it was "confusing" for her to understand how "people on the street" were fighting to end her conservatorship more than her own family. She alleged that her mother and sister actually liked her being the "bad one" in the family.

She went on to say that it felt like her family "threw [her] away" and compared herself to a machine, saying, "I was a machine. I was a f---ing machine. Not even a human. It was insane how hard I work." Fortunately, many of the comments on the deleted video were nothing but supportive.

"You are brave, you are strong, you are loved, you are seen. We love you Britney and we thank you for just sharing this with us when you shouldn't if you didn't want to," one fan commented. "We really don't deserve you, we love you so much, keep being strong and we are here for you.”
