Beyoncé's dad, Matthew Knowles, is crossing his fingers about Destiny's Child reunion, just like the rest of their fans.
The Destiny's Child group, managed by Matthew in 1990, comprised lead singers Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland, and Michelle Williams. However, the group disbanded in 2006.
Although the girl's group hasn't released a song together in years, several people are hopeful for a reunion soon, and the leading person is the talent manager.
Beyoncé's Dad, Matthew Knowles, Hopes Destiny's Child Would Reunite
For the first time, the 71-year-old voiced his hopes about the possible reunion of the hit-making trio during an interview with ET Online. He said, "It's a decision that the ladies would have to make. And I would certainly, support that decision as I still manage Destiny's Child. I would love to see that as well."
Sure enough, the record producer knows he is not alone in his wishes for a comeback and aired his opinions on how fans would react. "I think the fans will be just overjoyed, overwhelmed," he declared.
"And hopefully, they do one last time in their career. Hopefully, they give us one last album. Who knows? You never know. You never say it can't happen because this is entertainment. A lot of things can happen."
Knowles further talked about how the group was victorious over the years, crediting the success to his faith. He said, "If you don't believe, who else will? So it starts with you have to believe, and you have to have a strategy. You have to have the talent. You have to have all the work ethics, being a visionary, all those things."
The businessman, the brain behind the group's success and the mind-blowing success of Beyoncé's solo career, shared his plans to achieve such achievement. "We strategized five years out at the beginning of these ladies' career, where they will be, which is why they did their solo projects," Matthew explained.
He added, "Doing Destiny's Child, that was not happenstance or luck; that was a strategy that each of them will build their own unique following." Nevertheless, the father-of-two feels "gratitude" because the girls' dreams come true.
Last month, the businessman disclosed how he had raised his two powerhouse daughters, Beyoncé and Solange, advising how kids should be grown. He says, "Our young people are often more intuitive than adults in many areas. Those early passions many children possess should be nurtured and supported."
Knowles then related his advice to how he trained his kids. He stated, "When Beyoncé and Solange showed an interest in music at a very young age, Tina and I (already corporate professionals and entrepreneurs) didn't attempt to downplay their passions."
Matthew and his ex-wife Tina Knowles helped their children with their ambition and "were happy with whatever career path they chose" as long as they "took it seriously and strived to be the best they could."
The Record Producer Celebrated His First Daughter's Multiple Grammy Win
The entrepreneur's pattern of training his kids paid off as both Beyoncé and Solange went on to break records. At the 2023 Grammy, which took place in February, the "Run the World" singer won her 32nd Grammy award and became the first person to amass that amount of wins.
As expected, no one was more proud of the singer than her dad, who went all out celebrating her. He posted a picture of his daughter captured on stage as she gave her acceptance speech. In the image, the Hollywood Walk of Fame honoree, wearing a silver and gold strapless dress, looked beautiful as ever.
The outfit featured a corset bustier and a ruffled bottom with a thigh-high slit, and the look was completed with black gloves while her signature golden brown tresses fell in graceful waves.
Accompanying the photo, the proud dad lauded his 41-year-old daughter in the caption. He wrote, "Beyoncé, I'm so incredibly proud of you; ever since you were a young child, you've wanted to make a worldwide impact in music. You had a dream and the work ethic to make it happen."
He followed it up with another tweet, praising the "Single Ladies" singer for her successful career. And you did. And you continue to do so. Congratulations on your historic, record-breaking night! Love you."
Queen Bey was presented her fourth award for the night at the awards ceremony, and she was emotional about it. She credited her late uncle, her dad, and the queer community in her speech.
She said, "I'd like to thank my Uncle Johnny, who's not here. But he's here in spirit," the record breaker continued. "I'd like to thank my parents — my father and mother- for loving me and pushing me."
