As the US celebrated Mother's Day, the "Like A Virgin" singer joined in celebrating being a mother to her six kids — Lourdes, Rocco, David, Mercy, Stella, and Estere.

As the Grammy winner took delight in the joyful experience, she revealed her fears of motherhood and her previous decisions not to have kids.

The "Frozen" hitmaker kicked off Mother's Day celebration with a heartfelt post on her Instagram. The update featured a video that was a compilation of pictures of her and her kids. The beautiful clip began with pictures of Madonna as a child and her late mother.

It then transitioned to show the singer's motherhood journey from when she was pregnant to spending time with her kids.

In the accompanying caption, the 64-year-old singer laid bare her heart, highlighting her journey into motherhood. She began her message by emphasizing that she missed her late mom.

“I miss my mother every day And have fantasized for decades of what it must be like to have a mother to: call on for help, guidance, care, And wisdom.”

Continuing her caption, the Grammy winner got candid about her acceptance of motherhood. She penned, "I rejected the idea of being a mother well into my 30s because I associated motherhood with sacrifice, suffering, and ultimately death, and I wanted none of that."

However, the" Vogue" hitmaker took the bold step and decided to be a mom, irrespective of the challenges. "When I finally did become a mother, I was astonished at how grounded I felt but also dazed and confused as to how I would figure out the balancing act between being a good mother and an uncompromising artist."

She explained, "I walked through many years half-blind and made many mistakes. Because Every mother knows there are no manuals or rule books to follow. You have to dive in and figure it out. I have experienced my highest highs and my lowest lows as a Mother. No one could have prepared me."

Concluding her caption, the singer noted that she is proud of her kids and thanked them for choosing her as a mom.

This isn't the first time the iconic songstress has been candid about her motherhood struggles. In January, the "Material Girl" interviewed a Vanity Fair singer about handling a successful career and being a mom.

She said, "It was the hardest thing, the toughest battle. It was perhaps the most complicated clown performance to handle."

She added, "Even today, I struggle to understand how to be a mother and do my job. Because however it goes, whoever you are, having children and raising children is a work of art. And nobody gives you a manual. You have to learn from your mistakes. It is a job that takes a lot of time. And it is tiring because there's never rest."

The 'Like A Virgin' Singer Gushed About Her Lovely Twins

Although Madonna's motherhood journey hasn't been all rosy, she enjoys showing off her kids. Last month, the proud mom flaunted her twin girls, Stella and Estere, displaying their creative skills.

Madonna posted two photos of the twins dressed in similar crochet outfits. From the images, the adorable 10-year-olds looked all grown up, almost like adolescents.

In the first image, both girls posed side by side, each wearing a two-piece crochet ensemble comprising a halter cropped blouse and a matching mini skirt. While Estere's outfit was pink, Stella's was blue.

Estere paired her look with a headscarf of multiple colors, including pink. On the other hand, Stella accessorized with a gray beanie and a blueish crocheted purse.

Undoubtedly, the mom of six has done well in raising her kids even as she keeps them in tune with the spotlight. Earlier this year, Madonna took to her Insta Story to share some house rules her kids live by.

The board included a list of five rules, namely, "Smile," "Be Happy," "Listen to others," "Speak Kindness," and "Be Happy with what you have."
