Singer Britney Spears is getting another special made about her life.
Although many were made about her controversial conservatorship, this new special will give fans a look at her "alarming" lifestyle after the conservatorship ended in November 2021 and her June 2022 wedding to Iranian actor Sam Asghari.
Britney Spears' 'Alarming' Lifestyle Reportedly On Display In New Post-Conservatorship Special
On Monday, the trailer for "TMZ Investigates: Britney Spears: The Price of Freedom" was released online. The special will follow the story of Britney's life a little over a year after a judge struck down her conservatorship in November 2021. The conservatorship had been started in February 2008, after Britney's public meltdown the following year.
The new special looks like it will cover Britney's life after the conservatorship, her wedding and marriage to actor Sam Asghari, reports of a failed intervention, her strained relationship with her family, and more.
At the beginning of the trailer, TMZ Executive Producer and narrator Harvey Levin can be heard saying, “Britney Spears has had a year and a half of freedom since the conservatorship ended, but there are big problems.”
Although the trailer is only about thirty seconds long, it makes bombshell allegations. TMZ's managing editor Fabian Garcia alleges that Britney "got physical with Sam" while Harvey Levin says that the couple is in "deep trouble."
The special also looks like it will investigate how Britney spends her free time, which has become a concern to many on social media. According to a press release, the special will “reveal concern among those closest to her that she’s a danger to herself and others.”
TMZ executive producer Charles Latibeaudiere will also serve as one of the special’s hosts. He says that he heard an "alarming" comment from Britney's team to "keep knives away from her." An incident with a knife was also published in the memoir of Britney's sister, Jamie Lynn Spears.
That being said, the 41-year-old pop star was seen cutting vegetables on a wooden tray in an Instagram video that she posted on April 29, so it looks like no one is actually keeping knives away from the "Hold Me Closer" singer.
The New Special Claims That There Is 'Hope' For Britney To Make A Comeback
Although Britney has only released one song in six years - her "Hold Me Closer" collaboration with Sir Elton John, those around her still have "hope" that Britney will be able to make a comeback in her career.
The trailer said that there is “hope” for her future as a singer and she is still “probably still in the top five people.” The hour-long special will premiere on Monday, May 15, at 9 PM ET on Fox. It will also be available to stream on Fox Entertainment’s streaming platform, Tubi.
It does not appear that the "Toxic" singer has had any say in the new special about her life. She has publicly slammed claims that she "almost died" following her conservatorship, which prompted claims that she needed an interview.
In a February 9 Instagram post, Britney shared a quote on a pink background that read, “A state of gratitude will shift you to a higher frequency.” In the caption, Britney wrote, “It makes me sick to my stomach that it’s even legal for people to make up stories that I almost died … I mean at some point enough is enough !!!”
“I’m probably going to have to stop posting on Instagram because even though I enjoy doing it, there’s obviously a lot of people who don’t wish me well !!!” she continued. “I’m honestly not surprised at all … Again doing the best I can !!!”
“Again, the conservatorship has been over for almost a year … No folks, it’s not 2007 … it’s 2023 and I’m making my first homemade lasagna at home !!!” she continued. “I finally got my fireplace to work in my living room !!! As my hubby says it best: don’t believe everything you read !!! All that love right back at ya !!!”
However, there have also been reports about her strained marriage to the former personal trainer. In March, the “Slumber Party” singer was photographed without her wedding ring on vacation in Hawaii with her longtime manager Cade Hudson. Sam was also spotted running errands in Los Angeles also without his wedding ring.
Brandon Cohen, a rep for the Iranian actor, told Page Six that Britney and Sam are still going strong even though they’re not wearing their wedding rings. The BAC publicist added that Sam took off his ring because he is currently filming a movie, but did not explain why Britney wasn't wearing hers.
