Matty Healy Says He Will No Longer Kiss Fans Because Of Taylor Swift
During one of The 1975's concerts in January, frontman Matty Healy surprised the crowd when he announced that he would no longer be kissing fans during his performances out of respect for pop superstar Taylor Swift, whom he referred to as "the queen."
Healy's decision came just before Swift joined him on stage for a collaboration. "I'm not kissing anybody in front of Taylor Swift, have some respect," he stated, as seen in resurfaced TikTok clip. "In front of the queen, it's not happening," he added.
Swift then surprised the audience by asking if she could perform a cover of The 1975's "The City," a track from their self-titled debut album. In response, Healy gladly stepped back, allowing her to take the spotlight.
Interestingly, before the "Shake It Off" hitmaker's appearance, Healy had been known to ask for consent before kissing lucky fans during his performances.
The Duo Are Alleged To Be 'Madly In Love
On Wednesday, The Sun reported that a source close to Healy and Swift had claimed that the two were "madly in love" despite having only been dating for less than two months. This news has caused a stir among fans, especially since the two had a brief fling nearly a decade ago.
According to the insider, the timing wasn't right for the lovebird. But now, "it feels right" and are said to be taking things slow and steady. The report also suggested that Swift had ended her six-year relationship with actor Joe Alwyn in February, which means there was "no crossover" between him and Healy.
The rumored couple reportedly plans to go public with their relationship this weekend during Swift's concert in Nashville. However, this may not be possible as 1975 is scheduled to perform in the Philippines on Thursday.
Despite the distance, the insider revealed that the talented pair have been keeping in touch through FaceTime and text messages. "Both Matty and Taylor have been touring over the past few weeks, so it's been a lot of FaceTiming and texting, but she cannot wait to see him again," the source said.
Jack Antonoff Reportedly Set Up Taylor Swift & Matty Healy
According to a recent post on the gossip blog Deuxmoi, an anonymous celebrity, I claimed that Swift and Healy were set up by Swift's collaborator, Jack Antonoff. The source stated, "I had to tell you, I just heard that Tay Swift is already dating the lead singer of 1975. Antonoff set it up."
In 2014, the two superstars were linked together in a brief fling. However, Healy and Swift have remained friends over the years and even collaborated on some music for her latest album, "Midnights," though none of their songs made the final cut.
Despite this setback, Healy made a good impression on Swift, and it seems that Antonoff saw something special between them.
F1 Driver Fernando Alonso Fuels Dating Rumor With Taylor Swift
Before news of her budding romance with Healy, rumors were swirling around that the "Blank Space" singer might secretly date Spanish F1 driver Fernando Alonso. However, the athlete took to TikTok to hilariously address these rumors.
In a short TikTok video, the Spanish driver set to the tune of Swift's hit song "Karma," Alonso is seen scrolling through his mobile phone before looking up at the camera and winking. He captioned the post, "Race week era," a nod to Swift's ongoing "Eras Tour."
Alonso even referenced one of Swift's songs in the comments section, writing "Feeling 33," a play on her hit song "22."
