Sophia Culpo Talks Split With NFL Star Braxton Berrios: 'A Lot Of Trust Was Broken'
Earlier this month, the 26-year-old reality star revealed that she and Braxton called it quits after last month after he signed a new deal with the Miami Dolphins in a TikTok video with her sister Aurora.
On Wednesday, she addressed her break-up in a question-and-answer session on her Instagram Stories after a fan asked her "Are you able to talk about your breakup?" Unfortunately, Sophia said that she still hasn't completely come to terms with the fact that the relationship was over.
"I wasn't able to talk about this when it first happened," Sophia explained in the video (via TooFab). "I still don't really have words. I'm not really one to air out a bunch of dirty details."
Although she didn't share any details, she did say that "it didn't end well," adding that "a lot of trust was broken," which forced her to rely on her "support system" to help her through the breakup.
"I haven't addressed this because it’s been really hard to come to terms with and process. I'll say that it didn’t end well or honestly," she continued. "A lot of trust was broken. But I have an amazing support system and I appreciate everyone's love & support so, so much. This community never fails to amaze me."
Sophia said that she understood why people were speculating about their breakup, as the influencer often shares candid details about her life on social media. She kept her transparency in her latest video, admitting that she has had unintentional weight loss as a result of the breakup.
Sophia Says She Is Trying To Take The 'High Road'
"But I do know that I shared my relationship with you guys so it makes sense that there are questions about why this person is no longer in my life," she said on Wednesday. "I know that I’ve lost a lot of weight. It’s not intentional. The betrayal in my last relationship just really took a toll on me, but I have the most amazing support system."
Fortunately, Sophia has the support of her sisters, her parents, and her friends, to help her work through the break-up. That being said, it sounds like things might be even worse than fans have been speculating, as she said "I don't wish what I went through on anybody."
"I have the most amazing family and friends and I'm really grateful that I’m even able to pick myself up and move myself to a new place on my own," she continued. "So, there are a lot of things that I am grateful for… I don't wish what I went through on my anybody. I really, really don't and I'm trying my best to just take the high road here."
"I appreciate everyone's love and support, I really do. It means a lot to me," she added. "Us girls' girls gotta stick together and one day I will share all the lessons that I've learned."
Sophia Culpo Once Had A Crush On Olivia Culpo's Ex-Boyfriend!
Although the former Miss Universe is now engaged to San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey, Olivia used to date her little sister's celebrity crush: Nick Jonas.
During an interview at the Revolve Festival earlier this month, Sophia told E! News, "I have the best [celebrity crush]," admitting, "My first crush was Nick Jonas.”
She admitted that she used to keep posters of the Jonas Brother "all over" her bedroom and would even wish a photo of him "good night" before she fell sleep.
“I was like, ‘Well this is embarrassing,'” Sophia recalled, telling E! News that her crush fizzled out after the relationship started to become more serious.
“The crush was gone by the time they started dating. The posters were gone. We were in the clear,” Sophia joked.
