Sophia Culpo Reveals Her First Crush Was On Olivia Culpo's Ex

Sophia Culpo, the younger sister of pageant queen Olivia Culpo, is coming clean about her first celebrity crush.

Although the former Miss Universe is now engaged to San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey, she used to date her little sister's celebrity crush: Nick Jonas.

During an interview with her older sister Aurora Culpo at the Revolve Festival this weekend, Sophia told E! News, "I have the best [celebrity crush]," admitting, "My first crush was Nick Jonas.”

The 26-year-old reality TV star admitted that she used to keep posters of the Jonas Brother "all over" her bedroom and would even wish a photo of him "good night" before she went to bed.

Although Olivia seemed surprised by the confession, Aurora responded by calling it "awkward." She explained that Sophia would have to take down the posters whenever Olivia brought Nick over to visit.

“I was like, ‘Well this is embarrassing,'” Sophia recalled, telling E! News that her crush was basically over when Nick and her sister started getting more serious.

“The crush was gone by the time they started dating. The posters were gone. We were in the clear,” Sophia said.

Olivia and Nick dated for two years before calling it quits in 2015. In the November 2022 premiere of their reality show, "The Culpo Sisters," Olivia described the relationship as a “formative experience.”

“I moved to LA with him. I had no brand, no money and I was in love. That was great, right, but when he broke up with me, I was kind of left with no sense of identity,” she explained. “My whole identity was in him, which is a very common story of a young person in love."

The 30-year-old model admitted that she thought the pair were going to get married one day, saying, "I thought all the things, and I just remember night after night looking up at my ceiling in my apartment that I couldn’t afford thinking to myself how am I going to pay my rent.”

Although the two ultimately called it quits due to "distance," Olivia explained that she learned a lot about herself from the relationship. "It was a serious, pivotal moment for me, but it was something that taught me that you can’t give up,” she added.

Olivia also mentioned on her TV show that she wanted to get married by the time she turned thirty. Although she probably won't get married this year, she did get engaged to NFL star Christian McCaffrey on April 2 after four years of dating.

In a post shared to her Instagram Stories a few days later, Olivia wrote, "We tried to keep this quiet for as long as possible but apparently word travels fast. I’m marrying my best friend. I love you so much, fiancé."

Nick Jonas went on to marry actress Priyanka Chopra in 2018. The couple welcomed their first child, a daughter named Malti, in January via surrogate.

As for Sophia Culpo, she has not dated a Jonas brother. She also started dating an athlete - NFL star Braxton Bettios - in 2021, but the two called it quits in March.

In a series of TikTok videos, Sophia revealed that she was living the single life and had parted ways with Braxton Betrros.

"In other exciting news, so, if you followed along on my family’s show, you know I used to live with Olivia and then I moved to the East Coast with my ex and now I’m back in California,” Sophia says in the video.

“I have a new apartment that I’m moving into, I just have to go back to New Jersey and get all of my stuff — which I’ve been kind of avoiding just cause moving out of a long-term relationship where you guys live together, that’s really hard,” she added.

Her older sister Aurora also seems to be single at the moment. The mom-of-two filed for divorce from her husband, Michael Bortone, in April 2022 after allegations of infidelity.
