The rising country music star known for hits like "Best Shot" and "Make Me Want To" has been making headlines recently due to reports of troubles in his personal life. There seem to be more issues surrounding his split from his wife of three years, Alexis Gale judging by her recent post on social media.

Jimmie Allen's Marriage Woes Deepen As Wife Unfollows Him On Instagram

Following the news of their separation, the musician's estranged wife has taken to social media to unfollow him on Instagram. The move comes alongside a cryptic statement released by the registered nurse hinting at an impending divorce. 

On Monday, the 27-year-old made a cryptic post on her Instagram Story, writing, "The silence is loud enough for me," over an all-black screen. The plot thickened when, the following day, PEOPLE discovered that she had unfollowed Allen on Instagram, whereas he still follows her account.

The message surfaced days after the announcement of the couple's separation and a revelation that they were expecting their third child together. The former pair, who exchanged vows in May 2020, are proud parents to two daughters, Zara James and Naomi Bettie. However, from a previous relationship, Allen is also a father to his son Aadyn. 

Sources close to them revealed to TMZ that they had been having a rocky time lately, and after much consideration, they mutually agreed to part ways. The 37-year-old took to Instagram to tell his fans that he and Gale had decided to go their separate ways.

In his heartfelt message, the singer wrote, "After much thought and reflection in recent months, Lex & I have decided to separate. As we navigate this life change, we can also share that we will welcome another child later this year."

He made it clear that despite their split, the well-being of their children remained their top priority. He also emphasized that they were fully committed to co-parenting their children with love and respect. In conclusion, the "Mercury Lane" singer stated, "In light of our growing family, we respectfully request privacy during this time."

As regards his children, the artist opened up about his growing family and the joy of being a parent in a previous interview with Entertainment Tonight at last year's ACM Awards.

He shared that he and his wife often felt "outnumbered" by their children and acknowledged, "Going from two to three is a big jump. It's cool; we love them and are thankful for our kids."

Allen also noted that he was done having any more kids but later clarified his statement on PEOPLE magazine's podcast, saying that "It was actually [Alexis'] idea." He acknowledged the fun part of having a baby belonged to the men but that the process was much more challenging for women. He then said:

"And 'cause she's told [people] before she doesn't mind giving birth, it's the pregnancy part that's normally going to be hard on her."

The "DWTS" contender took to his Instagram Story to announce the postponement of his North Carolina performance due to a "family emergency" on Saturday, October 16th. Shortly after, The Blast reported that the star shared a cryptic update – a single baby emoji confirming his daughter's birth. 

Earlier, the singer had revealed their pregnancy with a series of stunning Instagram photos in June 2021. The couple shared their excitement with fans by showing off Gale's baby bump in the pictures.

In one of the pictures, the expecting mother posed with her stepson while her firstborn daughter, Naomi, held a pregnancy test. During an appearance on "The Sam Alex Show" later in the same month, Allen shared that he and his sweetheart were expecting their second daughter. He also revealed that the couple had been struggling to agree on a name for their little girl.

He humorously stated, "I want to name her Arya Stark Allen because I'm a huge Game of Thrones fan, but Lex ain't lettin' that happen!" However, by September, his wife announced on her page that they had finally settled on a name for their unborn baby — Zara.
