Robert Irwin Reminisces About His Late Father's Ute: 'It's A Special Car'

Robert Irwin recently shared some insight into his late father's car and the memories he carries with him. Robert took to Instagram to share some photo memories of his dad's ute, or utility vehicle, and reminisce some of the important moments Robert has shared with the vehicle.

Robert captioned the carousel of photos with some special memories. "My dad’s ute… it’s a special car. From early memories when Dad would park and let me pretend to drive, to more recently when I took my drivers test in it (and somehow managed not to stall it ?)," he wrote.

The caption continued to share a few more recent memories. "I remember my first solo drive in this car after I got my license - it was to the hospital to meet my niece for the first time, right after she was born. And now, the ute still comes on road trips to this day…"

Many of Robert's followers left sweet comments about how he continues to cherish his father's car.

"I love that you drive your dad’s car ❤️," one person wrote. Another added, "I still have the remote-control version of your dads car with a figurine of him and various crocodiles and snakes at my parents' house! Awesome to see she’s still alive."

Many people expressed how wonderful it is that the car is still running and that Robert drives it. "I can feel the sentimental nostalgia," wrote one person. "Amazing how it’s still going and you're using it bet your dad be over the moon," said another.

A few people also shared their memories and experiences with the late Crocodile Hunter. "Your Dad was such a great man. He would come to our house and entertain my children with stories and get excited over small reptiles in our back yard," one follower wrote.

"First time we went to Australia zoo Steve proudly announced Terri was pregnant with you. He was so happy. We went home to find out I was too," shared another.

Robert released his first photography book, "Robert Irwin's Australia" last year. He recently explained that a reimagined book was created and can now be purchased.

"I wanted to say a huge thank you, this is a big message of gratitude for the amazing support with a very exciting recent project, my first photography book, 'Robert Irwin's Australia,'" he began his video announcement.

"I was just floored with your reaction. You guys came out in support in a big way, but we've decided to reimagine the book, create something new and exciting. Our wonderful launch edition sold out very fast, so we've reimagined the cover, we've added some new images in there to make this a unique experience for those of you who can now get your hands on the book."

All proceeds of the book benefit wildlife conservation. Many of his followers dropped into the comment section to leave their thoughts.

"Putting the money he raises back into wildlife conservation just like his father did - so amazing ??," one follower wrote.

Another follower added, "Your dad would be so proud. ? well done Robert. The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. What a gift to the world your family is. ❤️"
