John Stamos is opening a box of memories he had of his late pal Bob Saget.
Both actors starred in the ABC sitcom "Full House." The pair bonded, and their friendship remained even when the show ended. Over the years of their company, they made special memories together.
When Stamos welcomed his son Billy with his wife Caitlin McHugh, the late Saget was among the first to meet him. Five years after Billy's birth and a year after Saget's death, Stamos remembers the heartwarming memory.
John Stamos Recalls Bob Saget Meeting His Son Billy
The 59-year-old's recent Instagram post was a walk down memory lane to 2018. He uploaded an old photo capturing the beautiful moment Saget first met with Billy shortly after his birth.
In the snap, the "Grandfathered" star carried his son in his arms while he stared lovingly at his close friend, who placed his hand on little Billy. Also spotted in the snap was their fellow "Full House" star Lori Loughlin who smiled lovingly at the little one. Captioning the photo, the "ER" actor wrote, "#Tbt Meet and greet with some of my favorite people."
Stamos' old memory of his friend evoked feelings from fans. One fan said, "Love how you look at Bob with such love. Such a beautiful memory you get to hold onto. Thank you for sharing it with us."
A second fan commented, "That's such a great picture. Sweet loving memories❤️," and a third follower added, "The sweetest picture. Rip @bobsaget.” A fourth individual expressed, "I wish this picture were from today 😢"
Since little Billy was born, the late actor was present and helped Stamos in his fatherhood journey. Months after the Grammy nominee's death, the "You" actor revealed some life-changing fatherhood tips he got from Saget.
Per The Blast, the Broadway Star uploaded a heartwarming video where he bonded with his toddler. The proud dad made funny faces while the cute boy laughed at the gimmicks. In the post's caption, Stamos disclosed an emotional fatherhood advice Saget gave him after the toddler's birth.
He wrote, "For the first few months, I didn't feel as connected with my son as I thought I would. Bob Saget said to wait until he laughs at you the first time."
Sure enough, fans left sweet comments under the post, and Stamos' wife led the comments. She wrote, "You've turned into the best father for our son. Love you both most."
Some fans agreed with Saget's advice and shared their experience in the comment. One follower penned, "So true that first laugh! It's like, omg, we are connecting," while another person remarked, "Oh, it gets better and better. Just wait! 6 months is just the cutest stage too!"
The 'General Hospital' Star Has A Forthcoming Memoir Inspired By Bob Saget
As the "General Hospital" alum keeps holding onto memories with his late friend, he documented them in a forthcoming memoir. Last month, he announced the book's release date and the inspiration behind the book.
The Daytime Emmy Awards nominee revealed the cover of the autobiography on his Instagram. The book's cover was a portrait of him in a black v-neck shirt, giving a little smile. The title read, "If you would have told me," and it'd be available 10/24/23.
Alongside the picture, the "Dreams" actor shared his inspiration for writing the book. "Everyone has a book in them," Stamos pointed out. "If You Would Have Told Me' is mine. I honestly didn't think I had much to share, certainly not enough to fill a book."
However, he had more than enough stories to share from the string of happenings in his life. Explaining his inspiration, Stamos said, "But, losing one of my best friends, becoming a father, taking a look back at the ups and downs, highs and lows…maybe there is something in my story that people can connect to. Like life, there will be laughs, tears, and some fun filler."
He continued, "I discovered that I'm here for every hurt and heartbreak because I'm here for every joy. There is much more life beyond these pages, but it's been one h*ll of a ride so far."
This announcement was met with excited fans who noted their eagerness to read the book. One fan commented, "Have mercy !! I cannot wait to sink my teeth into your words ❤️congratulations 👏" Another individual added, "I'm looking forward to reading your book! Missing him too."
