Spanish singer-songwriter Rosalia and her boyfriend of two years, Puerto Rican singer Rauw Alejandro are taking their swooning relationship to the next level as they recently got engaged.
The duo have been dating since late 2019 but made it public in September 2021. And now, their affair is leading to marriage which Cardi B, a close friend of Rosalia, confirmed on social media.
Cardi B Congratulates Rosalia And Rauw Alejandro In Engagement Announcement
The "Malamente" songstress will soon be a Mrs., and fans are loving every bit of the new update. She and her husband-to-be have partnered on several music projects amid their relationship, including his debut studio album, "Afrodisíaco," released in 2020.
News of their engagement circulated when Cardi B posted a picture of the Spanish star on her Instagram Story sporting a silver band with a huge rock. The picture showed Rosalia's face with her hand close to the camera while the "WAP" rapper wrote at the top, "Congrats @rosalia.vt @rauwalejandro" alongside red heart, red rose, and ring emojis.
Cardi did not stop there but added another text overlay at the bottom of the post. It read, "So adorable – almost made me cry." The lovebirds also seemingly confirmed the big news in the music video of their recent hit collaboration, "BESO."
Rosalia and Rauw are one of the most talked about couples in the music industry with separate successful careers. Although they rarely discuss their relationship, the pair sometimes post tiny details of their affair on social media.
While there is no public knowledge about how the duo got together, TODAY reported that they initially sparked dating rumors in August 2021 when they were snapped holding hands. At the time, they were leaving the West Hollywood restaurant The Nice Guy and beamed as they strolled towards a black SUV.
In the obtained pictures, Alejandro sported black pants, a navy button-up shirt, and a black beanie, while his woman wore a black crop top and multicolored trousers. Later in September of the same year, the couple confirmed their relationship by celebrating the "Con Altura" songstress' 28th birthday on September 25.
As seen on Instagram, she marked the special day by cuddling in her beau's arms on the couch while he played video games. Another snap in the carousel post showed the pair getting intimate against each other.
Rosalia blessed her followers with another adorable view of the couple in November, vacationing together, further confirming their romance. She was seen smooching Alejandro underwater, whereas other images showed him helping her with her face mask and kissing her on the shoulder.
In the same month, they debuted red carpet at the Los 40 Music Awards photo call on November 12 in Palma de Mallorca, Spain. The Latin Grammy Award recipient rocked a baby blue gown with a butterfly detail while her partner went for an all-black ensemble.
Since they went public, Alejandro has had only good words for his girlfriend. In a 2021 interview with Entertainment Tonight, he was asked what attracted him to her, leading him to call her "perfect" and "beautiful." In another interview with Rolling Stone, he revealed how their relationship worked, touching on their respect for each other, even regarding their careers.
The twosome's love is certainly going strong without affecting their musical partnership as they announced in March 2023 that they would be releasing a joint EP titled "RR," comprising three songs, "Beso," "Vampiros," and "Promesa."
The "Pienso en tu Mirá" Vocalist Announces Cardi B Feature On Remix Of 'Despechá'
Last December, Billboard reported that the two close friends, Rosalia and Cardi B worked together on dropping a remix of the Latin banger "Despechá." The "La Fama" songstress first shared the news of a possible remix on social media, stating, "MOTOMAMIS, TOMORROW DESPECHA REMIX, who do you think it will be with????"
The following day, she revealed the added feature: "Today at midnight with La Cardi," to which Cardi B replied with "Uy, bien perra." The then-new music was set to drop on Friday, December 16, months after the release of its original version in July.
"Despechá" was initially teased during the world tour for Rosalia's award-winning album "Motomami" and was loved by many on social media. In addition, the song gained her first top spot as a soloist last October on Billboard's Latin Airplay chart and a second No. 1 spot on Billboard's Tropical Airplay.
