Amy Robach & T.J. Holmes' New Show Pitch Gets Declined
Per New York Post, Robach and Holmes are finding it difficult to land a backer for their proposed joint show that would allow them to return to TV.
The two, who have been busy making pitches through their talent agency, CAA,
to several media companies over the past weeks, were reportedly turned down by the likes of CBS Media Ventures and CNN.
It is claimed that they also met with the executives of Fox Entertainment and Fox Television Stations for "general meetings" on "various opportunities" but that it might also lead to a dead end.
"I don't think the talks are serious at all," a source said about the meetings. "CAA set up these meetings, and everybody took them. I don't think anyone is serious. I don't think there's any there."
The disgraced lovers are said to be teetering on the edge of desperation but still plan on meeting with other media companies.
"If they did a talk show, what would they talk about? What's their expertise — infidelity?" a media expert said, "They'd take anything. I think they'd host a game show at this point."
They Are Selling Their Chemistry
Last week, Robach and Holmes made headlines after it was reported that they met with the "Ellen DeGeneres Show" producers to pitch their show.
An insider close to the situation shared that the duo has tried to sell their chemistry to the showrunners as it worked for them in their previous jobs.
"They absolutely believe that their chemistry would sell, because it sold at ABC," the insider said, adding that the showrunners at the network even commented on their connection, per Page Six.
Another insider revealed why the couple has been relentlessly hunting for a sponsor, suggesting that the severance money they received from ABC "would not sustain them."
Both former "GMA3" hosts are said to be living a luxury lifestyle since being fired from the network. In addition, they recently returned from a vacation in Mexico, which would have depleted their reserve funds significantly.
Amy Robach Has Finalized Divorced From Andrew Shue
In the meantime, Robach recently reached a divorce agreement with her ex-husband Shue.
"It's an awfully sad end to what was a great marriage," a close friend said per Daily Mail. "Andrew was so into her. But at least they worked out their split through mediation rather than some ugly legal battle."
According to Page Six, the pair "constantly had problems over the years," leading to their marriage hitting the rocks 12 years after they exchanged vows.
The estranged couple secretly hashed out their divorce deal through mediation and agreed to maintain joint custody of their pet dog, Brody.
Some aspects of the divorce deal, such as asset division, remain unknown because the couple has yet to share any information with the media.
Amy Robach & T.J. Holmes Love Flaunting Their Romance
Robach and Shue's quiet divorce would give the former anchorwoman the legal freedom to take her love life with Holmes to the next level once he finalizes his separation from his estranged wife, Fiebig.
While that process is ongoing, Robach and Holmes have continued to flaunt their love in public, just as they have done since the news of their romance surfaced.
The couple was recently photographed walking arm in arm through the streets of New York, with Holmes grinning continuously at her beau.
Her casual and relaxed ensemble consisted of a white and black quarter-zip fleece, joggers, and sneakers. Meanwhile, Holmes was dressed similarly casually, in a blue tracksuit, denim jacket, and sneakers.
