"I don't think I fully knew what I was signing up for when I went online. Overall, it's been fully worth it because I get messages from all sorts of people saying that they feel closer to their true selves, or they're discovering things about themselves through my videos," she told Variety. "I think that's all I could really ask for is just for people to be their best versions of themselves."

The TikTok series began last March, well after Mulvaney began posting on TikTok. The first video in the series that she eventually began calling "Days of Girlhood" led to many others that showed her life and all the fun she was having with the series.

She shared intimate details of her life, including her facial feminization surgery, and quickly earned a huge following on the platform. She currently has nearly 11 million followers, and an additional 1.7 million on Instagram.

Rolling Stone recently asked Mulvaney what she was most excited for after the big celebration show. She explained that while she's grateful for her platform on social media, she's looking forward to a day that she gets to keep some things to herself.

"Especially during those first 100 days of girlhood, every day I woke up and was like, 'Are they still here?'" I think it's difficult when you've built an entire platform on sharing everything," she explained. "I actually really want to have a day 365 that's not for anyone else. This day has now become such a sort of spectacle. And I think there's something important too about having a moment for myself. To say, 'Look at how far we've come.'"
