Rebel Wilson's post about her Oscars after-party outfit has become the talk of social media.

Even though the actress proved that she loved the gold dress, which she previously wore to the 2020 Academy Awards, her followers were thrown into opposing sides of an argument. While some applauded her for recycling the outfit, others pointed out that Wilson did not understand the concept of sustainability.

Rebel Wilson Sparks Sustainability Conversation With A New Post On Instagram

Wilson looked stunning when she appeared at this year's Vanity Fair Oscars after-party in her Jason Wu dress. The off-the-shoulder gown, which she paired with a Kurt Geiger-designed rainbow clutch purse and gold bracelets, highlighted her new shape following years of dedication towards losing weight.

The "A Few Best Men" star's pride at shedding 80 pounds so far also manifested in a Boomerang video featuring her partner, Ramona Agruma, that she shared on Monday. The pair held hands as they moved one leg forward in the clip, which the San Diego Film Critics Society nominee captioned:

"Oscars 2023. Sustainably re-wearing my @jasonwu dress from the Oscars a few years ago."

The comment section was immediately thrown into a debate as one person noted that Wilson was "misrepresenting or not understanding what the word sustainable means." Although the commenter gave the blonde beauty props for re-rocking the ensemble, she explained that "rewearing a gorgeous but absolutely ridiculously priced dress" was not sustainable.

When a supporter slammed the critic for her opinion, she responded: "I'm not a public figure using my platform to advertise my life, claiming I'm being sustainable." She also stated, "this simply missed the mark" and that "constructive criticism shouldn't be taken as a slam." Another critic commented:

"Thank goodness you're wearing a dress TWICE! That'll make up for the private jets then," and a third added, "If this is sustainable... ok…."

Wilson also had some supporters in the crowd, and one of them wished that "more celebs would do the same and totally own it too," especially since no one cared "if you re-wear something that's totally stunning."

A second fan claimed that the "Pitch Perfect" star looked as "gorgeous" as she did the first time, and a third wrote, "Beautiful, wish more people would re-wear outfits, gowns, etc! Makes perfect sense."

Meanwhile, a third thought that it would be better for celebrities to "swap with each other old gowns/borrow them" instead of just re-wearing their outfits. While the possibility of that is yet to be seen, one thing that is certain now is Wilson's plan to have a lavish wedding ceremony at Disneyland.

Per The Blast, the 43-year-old celeb and her fiancée are working towards hosting their guests to a "massive, elaborate wedding that will bear no expenses." One insider further disclosed:

"Rebel is a die-hard Disney lover, and they are really considering having their dream wedding there. It is definitely their happy place, and Rebel still feels like she is living a real-life fairytale."

The MTV Movie Awards winner informed fans of her engagement status with two photos posted to Instagram. The first image showed her holding Agruma's hand, spotlighting the diamond ring on her fourth finger, and the second featured the lovebirds kneeling on flower petals.

The Young Hollywood Awards Nominee Credits Her Romance For Inspiring Her To Create Dating App

The Blast reported in mid-February that the love she shares with her fiancée inspired Wilson to start her dating app, "Fluid." The Tara Anglican School for Girls alum made the disclosure during an interview where she explained:

"This is the first dating app where you don't have to actually define yourself or tick a box to say, 'I'm straight, I'm gay, I'm bisexual,' and you don't have to describe what you are looking for. It's kind of love with no labels."

She explained that even though her connection with the designer shocked her, she would have been better prepared for the experience if a similar app had existed five years ago. In fact, the Australian actress always assumed that she was "really looking for a husband, dating about 50 guys in one year."

Luckily, Wilson did not turn the love that Agruma was offering her away and chose to figure out why she enjoyed having "deep friendships" with women so much. These days, the "How to Be Single" star is excited to be in a "great same-sex relationship," which has been "awesome."
