Fans Slam Kim K For 'Gaslighting' Kanye West With Ice Spice Hangout

Critics are not giving Kim Kardashian a free pass for allegedly trying to gaslight her ex-husband and rapper Kanye West.

Drama has been brewing online against the Kardashian for a week following the uploads of videos showing her first child and daughter, North West, dancing to rapper Ice Spice's songs on TikTok.

Although she deleted most of the clips, pictures of the reality TV star hanging with Spice have caused another round of controversy on social media.

For many who have followed the history between Kardashian and Ye, it is not news that the rapper has a problem with their nine-year-old daughter uploading content to TikTok. In fact, soon after a clip of North wearing makeup appeared on the platform last year, the "Jesus Walks" hitmaker declared:

"Don't have my daughter wearing lipstick on TikTok, or don't have her on TikTok at all if I'm not there to approve that."

Unfortunately, his wishes were ignored as multiple clips of his daughter hanging out with Spice and dancing to her hits popped up on the short-form video hosting service. The outrage from social media users resulted in most of the content being deleted.

However, that did not stop Kardashian from sharing two images of herself alongside the "Bikini Bottom" rapper on Instagram. In the first photo, the SKIMS founder pouted while Spice touched the top of her lips with her tongue.

The duo maintained the pose in the next slide, with North photobombing them with a big smile. For the snaps, the "Name of Love" hitmaker donned a pink top and bottom of the same pattern. She added a matching cropped jacket, accessorizing with a custom diamond piece of her face, diamond studs, a ring on her middle finger, and full glam.

Kardashian, who donned a blue top and a necklace, also had a full face beat, opting for nude lipstick and winged eyeliner. Even though the post got over 2.5 million likes and comments praising her, a few people expressed disappointment with the hangout.

"Wow after her dad says it bothers him classic gaslighting ?," one person wrote, and another claimed that the "Keeping up with the Kardashians" alum was trying to show Ye that "she does as she pleases."

A third critic called the occurrence the "weirdest linkup of 2023," and a fourth declared that the mother-of-four knew "exactly" what she was doing. Yet another commenter assumed Kardashian was intentionally "messing" with Ye, while this netizen said she was doing "anything to stay relevant."

A seventh observer simply wanted to know why the Teen Choice Award winner would invite an almost-stranger into the home she shares with her kids.

Amid the controversy, it is worth mentioning that Kardashian had previously disclosed North's 'obsession' with the "Boy's A Liar" rapper. According to The Blast, the California-born star shared the update in a video she uploaded to her Instagram Story.

The clip began with a snuggle session between the Choice Female Reality/Variety Star winner and her last child, Psalm. The sweet moment was soon interrupted by North, who wanted her mom to talk to actress La La Anthony on FaceTime. 

Once she collected the phone, the socialite told her viewers, "When my daughter is FaceTiming my best friend as I try to do a video." Kardashian then asked the 40-year-old what she and the preteen were talking about. 

Upon hearing that they were conversing about Spice, the beauty mogul retorted, "Ice Spice, that's all North cares about."

Nearly a year after her nine-month relationship with comedian Pete Davidson ended, the "Dash Dolls" star disclosed her openness to remarrying. Per The Blast, the 42-year-old asked those close to her to set her up with a man who was not a celebrity like her.

"Kim hasn't been dating but is ready again. She took a breather after Pete, but she is interested now. She would love to date someone who isn't famous in Hollywood," one source stated.

The insider further explained that besides being a low-key individual who kept away from the popular crowd, the businesswoman's potential beau had to be a finance guru with whom she could share her success.

As for her plans to remarry, Kardashian previously shared,"I have this fantasy in my head, like fourth's time's a charm, it's gonna — it's gonna work out."
