Tristan Thompson is not reneging on his promise to be a changed man.
In January, the Professional Basketball player sadly lost his mom, Andrea Thompson, to a heart attack. This tragic loss caused Tristan to reflect on his ways, and he promised to be a better man.
Tristan Thompson Is Working On Being A Better Man To Khloe Kardashian
In his February 6 tribute to his late mom, the Canadian-American basketball player assured her he would show the world he was a better man. An excerpt of the touching statement read,
"All I can say is, I'm sorry mommy for the wrong decisions I've made in my life. I'm sorry for the embarrassment &pain. You raised me better than what I was able to show you. But I have also learned sorry is not enough. Actions speak louder than words. So I won't just say sorry. Stay tuned to the ways I will show the world what an amazing son you raised."
Almost two months after Tristan laid his mom to rest, he is still aware of his promise and is doing his best to make that happen.
A source close to the NBA star revealed to a news outlet that he is working hard on fulfilling his promise. “Tristan wants to show the world, Khloe, and his mom -- his guardian angel -- the man and father that he can be, even more so now," the source said.
The insider shared that the athlete's determination is even more fueled thanks to the constant support he has been receiving from his baby mama Khloe Kardashian. Per reports, she has been spending more time with Tristan in the aftermath of his mother's passing.
Per the insider, "Khloe has been very cognizant of making sure Tristan and his brothers don’t feel alone, and she has been doing her best to help them as they deal with this tragic loss. She has acted as an amazing support system."
Additionally, the Good American founder has been focused on the two kids she shares with the basketball player, making sure they are fine as well. "Both Khloe and Tristan are extremely hands-on parents and True is absolutely loving being an older sister to her baby brother," the source explained. "They are happy."
Aside from Khloe, the entire Kardashian family has been supporting the Thompsons as they mourn their loss. As disclosed, the Kardashians “have been sending flowers, keeping them engaged, and making sure they know they are loved and supported."
However, There Is No Romantic Relationship Between The Exes
Khloe’s supportive acts align with her promise to the late Andrea Thompson when she passed on. As The Blast reported, the Good American founder wrote a tribute after the matriarch’s death, assuring her that her boys would be fine.
Koko wrote, “Just know, I promise you, Amari will be perfectly ok. We will all look after him, help him and protect him. Your boys will be ok because they have their guardian Angel by their side.”
However, despite holding on to her word, the “KUWTK” alum is assuring the world that she and the 31-year-old athlete are not romantically linked even though they would often be seen together.
A source had previously explained, “Khloé has no intention of getting back with Tristan but no matter what happens between them, he’ll always be the father of her kids and her family.”
The source added, “She’s able to remain amicable with Tristan and focus on co-parenting, and the bigger picture because she’s a natural caretaker — she always has been.” The 38-year-old further affirmed this when she finally addressed the speculations about their reconciliation on Twitter.
While interacting with her fans, Khloé responded to a question about her relationship status, writing, “Who has time for a man lol I have a 6-month-old baby, and True and I are sickly codependent on one another. Ha! I secretly love it. No, but for real…. No man right now…. He’s in my prayers, too, ha!”
Shortly after Khloe shut down the claims, Tristan was seen being a doting dad as he took to Instagram to share a heartwarming photo of him bonding with daughter True, whom he shares with the reality star.
Captioning the adorable post, Thompson wrote, “Jersey day is my favorite day of the school year, #minime.” Some of Thompson’s followers quickly noted the striking resemblance between father and daughter.
A follower wrote, “True is definitely your mini me,” while another fan echoed, “True is the spitting image of her dad.” Another individual added, “Damn, they are definitely daddy/daughter. What a lovely picture.”
