According to a court order, obtained by The Blast, Halsey and her attorney appeared via court video yesterday to obtain a permanent restraining order against an obsessed fan who she claims smashed a guitar in her neighbor's yard, after not being able to locate the singer. The alleged stalker, who is presently incarcerated, has been ordered to stay 100 yards away from the singer, her home and workplace for a period of five years.

The court found that Halsey's alleged stalker was properly served with a temporary restraining order and notice of yesterday's hearing. The alleged stalker attempted to communicate with the court before the hearing, and improperly filed documents which were not considered for the hearing. The alleged stalker did not appear for the hearing, and the court determined that Halsey provided her burden of proof to allow the court to grant a permanent restraining order.
