The power of social media shines through once again!
After a few viral videos, two well-known TikTok food critics can now say they helped create some new menu items on Chipotle's menu. Keith Lee and Alexis Frost now have their fajita quesadilla creations on the menu.
The "Keithadilla" And "Fajita Quesadilla Hack" Hit The Chipotle Menu On Thursday
It all started when Frost shared a video in her "Eating What Employees Would Order" series of a Chipotle quesadilla with steak and fajita vegetables. Then Lee created his own video testing the steak quesadilla that Frost raved about and added a twist - combining Chipotle's honey vinaigrette dressing with sour cream. Lee's stitch with Frost's video got nearly 5 million views and thousands of comments.
After watching the video and seeing all the attention it was getting, one follower hilariously commented, "Me as a chipotle employee preparing to make hella quesadillas tomorrow π will prob make an extra batch of vinaigrette too π€£." Another follower joked, "Chipotle workers like 'come on Keith. I was tryna be slow tomorrow.'"
Many others dropped into the comment section to say they didn't even know that Chipotle had vinaigrette on their menu. "Wait there's a vinaigrette at Chipotle? π€·ββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπββοΈ," one person wrote. Another added, "Vinaigrette???? What have I been missing?"
Thanks to Frost's and Lee's viral videos, Chipotle customers now have some new options to choose from. After the videos went viral and many were ordering the creators' hacks, Chipotle decided to add the popular menu items but wanted to take the time to train their employees before rolling out the new menu.
Starting on Thursday, customers who use the Chipotle app or order on their website can order the new menu items inspired by the two creators. Before Thursday, you could order a Fajita Veggies Quesadilla or a Steak Quesadilla, but not have it all in one quesadilla. Thanks to Lee and Frost, that has now changed.
Chipotle Let Keith Lee And Alexis Frost Announce The New Menu Items In January
In early January, the two viral TikTok creators joined forces to make a video together to announce their big news. "Quick story time with me, Chipotle and Alexis. Two weeks ago, I stitched Alexis' video about Chipotle. Chipotle heard and it's coming to the Chipotle app," Lee said. Frost jumped in and added, "But it's gonna take a little while because they got to get it just right."
They then told their viewers that the new menu items will hit the app in March for everyone, but they were going to taste test it right then and there. "We got it - a steak quesadilla with fajitas and cheese," Lee said. "That's fire. March is around the corner. It's coming in March. It's worth the wait."
Chipotle left the comment, "See yβall in March π," and Frost added, "We did it! β€οΈβ€οΈ"
One follower wanted to point out Lee's humility by saying, "Love that Keith gives props and doesn't take all the credit. Love the collab ππ½π―β₯οΈ." Another person wrote, "This makes me so happy! Yβall are so influential and we love to see it."
Keith Lee Updated His Followers The Day The New Menu Items Came Out
Lee took to TikTok where it all began for the "Keithadilla" to let his followers know the time has come. "You can finally get the Fajita Quesadilla, but you can only get it in the Chipotle app," he said. "You know what else you can get in the Chipotle app? The vinaigrette."
He then said he was filming the video from the Chipotle test kitchen, as he prepares to eat one of the quesadillas he helped get on the menu. "It was worth the wait," he concludes his video. The video is already past 1 million views in no time at all. See full video HERE.
On Chipotle.com, a description reads, "Order Keith Lee or Alexis Frost's personalized Fajita Quesadilla entree online or in the App. Find out why both creators gave it a 10 out of 10."
The "Keithadilla" comes with steak, cheese, fajita vegetables and on the side, Chipotle-honey vinaigrette, roasted chili-corn salsa and sour cream. Frost's "Fajita Quesadilla Hack" comes with steak, cheese and fajita vegetables on the inside and on the side, roasted chili-corn salsa, tomatillo red-chili salsa and sour cream. Each of these fajitas also comes with three sides.
