Fans Speak Out After Seeing Yara Shahidi's Tinkerbell In 'Peter Pan And Wendy'

The Walt Disney Company just released its trailer for the upcoming live-action "Peter Pan" film titled "Peter Pan and Wendy".
The star-studded cast includes Jude Law as Captain Hook, Ever Anderson as Wendy, Alexander Molnoy as Peter Pan, and Yara Shahidi as Tinkerbell.
David Lowery, known for directing the live-action "Pete’s Dragon" directed the upcoming live-action "Peter Pan" film alongside Toby Halbrooks, known for co-writing "Pete’s Dragon". Meanwhile, in production is Jim Whitaker, who is known for his work on "A Wrinkle In Time" alongside Joe Roth, who is known for "Maleficent: Mistress of Evil".
Disney Reveals First Look Of Tinkerbell
Disney has just dropped a trailer for the upcoming "Peter Pan and Wendy" film, which will be released exclusively to Disney's streaming service, Disney+, on April 28, and this is the first time Disney is giving fans a look at "Grown-ish" star Yara Shahidi as Tinkerbell.
"This year, return to Neverland. ✨," Disney Tweeted before adding, "Watch the trailer for #PeterPanAndWendy and stream the movie event April 28 only on @DisneyPlus."

Fans immediately came to rally around Yara Shahidi as Tinkerbell as her name plus the name of the film began to trend on Twitter.

Yara Shahidi Speaks Out on Portraying Tinkerbell
When Yara Shahidi was first announced to portray Tinkerbell in "Peter Pan and Wendy", she spoke to Variety, giving insight as to how fun it is to take on this role.
“You know, Tinker Bell is really fun,” Shahidi told Variety. “I think what I like the most about this take is that Tinker Bell is coming with a lot of agency, you know? She may be a famous sidekick, but I love the fact that she is driven and motivated in her own ways. I don’t want to give too much up, but I’m really looking forward to this adaptation.”
Writer and director David Lowery also spoke out on the upcoming live-action, saying, "In making Peter Pan & Wendy, we set out to craft a film that honors both the original J.M. Barrie text and Walt Disney's animated adaptation; we wanted to invigorate our retelling with emotional sincerity, an open heart and a grand yearning for adventure."
"Hundreds of incredible artists spent many years bringing this film to the screen. I'm excited for audiences to see their work, to go on this ride, and to rediscover an evergreen tale from a new perspective," he added.
