Sam Smith Is Up To Something 'Unholy' As He Joins 'And Just Like That'

Sam Smith is bringing an "Unholy" dose of freshness to the small screens.

When fans learned of the original "Sex And The City" cast members returning to the HBO Max series "And Just Like That," they were high with obsession and with good reason. Now to spice things up more, the franchise is enlisting the help of the British pop singer for its forthcoming season.

On Wednesday, the four-time Grammy Awards winner and the TV show's official Instagram account shared a joint post, revealing the singer is another famous face to join the production.

The "Gloria" singer teased fans about their upcoming acting role in the second season of "Just Like That." They posted snaps on their grid that showed them posing by a trailer on the filming set. 

The first image showed the "Stay with Me" singer behind a trailer door with their head popping out while they smiled and threw up the peace sign. In the shot, the songwriter pairs a grey knitted sweater with a roll neck and dark-framed sunglasses.

The following photograph displayed the artist sitting with their legs crossed on a wooden movie set chair with black fabric. As they sat, they rested one hand on their face and beamed sweetly at the camera.

Many fans could now see Smith's outfits in full as they sported dusty blue denim jeans and a white pair of Reebok trainers to go with his sweater that has a pink pocket on the left side.

As the "Dancing with a Stranger" singer shared their new career update with their 14.7 million followers, they wrote in the caption, "Up to something unholy on set." As expected, fans could not contain their excitement. One wrote, "Sam woaaa!! what are you preparing?! A cameo ahahah!! love you lots x looking for...?"

"Your on fire sam.Your dream are coming true.Omg me and my wife can't wait to see you in April ❤️," another penned while a third exclaimed, "Living for this." Meanwhile, a fourth wrote, "I CANNOT HANDLE THIS."

As fans wait for season two, it is worth recalling an earlier report by The Blast that detailed how the "Sex and the City" alum Sarah Jessica Parker put fans into an absolute panic with an "AJLT" plot twist. 

Fans would recall that Carrie Bradshaw- a character played by SJP and her podcast producer, Franklyn Hernandez shared a passionate kiss in the elevator before the last episode ended. 

However, the actress alluded that season two would start differently than fans intended. She shared photos of Carrie and Aiden Shaw- played by John Corbett- in the street, embracing and kissing each other passionately. A major plot twist as Aiden was Carrie's love interest throughout the "Sex and the City" series.

Captioning the jaw-dropping post, she wrote, "This. Is. Not. A. Drill. X, SJ," which caused many celebrities to flood her comment section with cute reactions. Gwyneth Paltrow commented, "NO WAYYYYY," Andy Cohen wrote, "I'm freaking."

The clothing retailer, Old Navy, said, "Carrie in her Bennifer era!!!" "Please don't play with our emotions like this on a Thursday," Lena Waithe reacted.

What was supposed to be a fantastic night for the LGBTQ+ community turned into a debate on social media by individuals who got upset over Smith's "Unholy" Grammy Performance. 

As the song's name suggests, the "Like I Can" singer put on a risqué show, but many people were displeased with the devil horns and bloody red outfits they incorporated into their performance.

The Blast noted that fans were even more upset when they discovered Pfizer sponsored the entire Grammy ceremony. Someone wrote, "To make matters worse, the Grammys award show that featured Sam Smith's debauchery was sponsored by none other than Pfizer." 

Alongside an old picture of Smith, another internet user wrote, "What happened in the last 6 years?! Clearly something not normal!" A dramatic fan noted:

"Sam Smith literally performed a satanic ritual at the Grammys….. & it was literally "brought to you by Pfizer. This is our time to protect our children from these sick & deranged, dark and nasty energies."

However, many more laughed at the outrage with one Twitter user joking, "Sam Smith & Kim Petras got Republicans mad today! Maybe I will give unholy a stream today."
