It seems Megan Fox is regretting airing her dirty laundry with Machine Gun Kelly.
On Super Bowl Sunday, the "Jennifer's Body" actress shared a cryptic post about "dishonesty" and deactivated her Instagram account a few hours later. She did return to Instagram until the following week, where she slammed "baseless news stories" circulating about her relationship.
Although it's still not clear if she and MGK have gotten back together, one source claims that the two are on the road to patching things up.
Megan Fox And Machine Gun May Get Back Together This Week, Sources Say
On Tuesday morning, a source told PEOPLE that the 36-year-old actress was “backtracking” after she posted the lyrics to Beyoncé’s song “Pray You Catch Me,” writing, "You can taste the dishonesty/ it's all over your breath."
"She's now posted that there was no cheating, but she initially thought there was and now is backtracking a bit," the source said. "She was definitely hinting at infidelity with her first post. She regrets making it all so public, but was really upset in the moment."
The source described the couple's relationship as "crazy and intense," adding, "yet it wouldn't be shocking if they were back together completely by the end of the week."
Megan Fox Denies 'Third Party Interference' In Her Relationship
On Sunday, February 19, the 36-year-old actress took to Instagram to share a single post.
"There has been no third party interference in this relationship of any kind," Fox wrote. "That includes, but is not limited to..actual humans, DMs, Al bots or succubus demons."
"While I do hate to rob you of running random baseless news stories that would have been much more accurately written by ChatGPT, you need to let this story die and leave all of these innocent people alone now," she added.
She also took to the Instagram account of MGK's guitarist, Sophie Lloyd, to show her support.
'Maybe I Got With Sophie' Leads To Allegations Of Infidelity
After reading Fox's caption, many users speculated that the 32-year-old rocker had cheated on the "Transformers" actress. One user commented, "He probably got with Sophie."
Fox replied, "Maybe I got with Sophie" alongside a fire emoji. Although it seemed like a joke, some users took it as "confirmation" of the rumors.
On Sunday night, Fox took to Instagram herself to set the record straight, commenting on a promotional Instagram post for her upcoming single “Fall of Men.”
Megan Fox Calls This Sophie's 'First Unwarranted PR Disaster'
"How me making a joke in order to absolve this girl of a hurtful accusation somehow turned into a confirmation of it - I will never understand," Fox began, asking, "Why are people so... so dumb?"
“Sophie, you are insanely talented. Welcome to Hollywood. Your first unwarranted PR disaster. You have been baptized by the flames of fame,” she joked. "It only gets worse from here, unfortunately. Just ignore it as much as you can. Middle finger up."
Sophie replied, “the internet is so wild! Sending so much love, @meganfox” alongside a pink heart emoji.
Sophie Lloyd Slams 'Meritless' Accusations Of Infidelity
A few days earlier, Sophie's management team had put out their own statement denying that she was involved in the drama. “Sophie Lloyd is a professional, accomplished musician who has been needlessly dragged into the media based off of meritless accusations made by social media,” her management team said.
“Any suggestion that she has ever acted in an unprofessional manner or stepped out of her relationship are untrue,” the statement added. “It’s disrespectful to her as a female artist and poor journalism and social commentary to be reporting anything else.”
Are Megan Fox And Machine Gun Kelly Going To Get Back Together?
The headline-making pair first met on the set of "Midnight in the Switchgrass" in 2020 and became engaged in January 2022. Last Friday, one source told PEOPLE magazine that Fox is "still upset" with her fiancé, but the two are “working through their issues” and emphasized that they “haven’t split.”
"Megan is still upset but is not giving up on their relationship," the source said. "He feels the same way. They are getting professional help because they want things to work out."
Last Monday, the Daily Mail reported that the couple spent two and a half hours inside a marriage counselor's office in California. Although the two left the building together, Fox was said to have looked "visibly upset" and the couple left in separate cars.
