It's been nearly 30 years since the hit movie "Clueless" came out, and Alicia Silverstone's character Cher recently resurfaced for a new generation. During this year's Super Bowl, an ad for Rakuten had Silverstone recreating a moment from the film.

"Clueless" shot Silverstone, 46, to A-list fame, but it wasn't something Silverstone was totally prepared for when it happened, and she said "it didn't feel comfortable." She recently opened up about what fame was like for her after the film came out in 1995.

During a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Silverstone explained how it felt for her to rise to sudden fame after "Clueless" came out and became the hit that it is.

"When 'Clueless' came out, it really shifted. I had been the girl from 'Crush,' then I was the Aerosmith chick, and then, after that, I was Cher," she said. "It was very complicated and I don't think I knew how to manage it: I didn't have the foundation, the good tools to deal with it, I wasn't prepared for it in any way, shape, or form. I really had no idea what was happening, and it didn't feel comfortable."

A few years and a few acting gigs later, Silverstone decided to take a little step back from acting and pursue other passions.

"I wasn't happy and what I did was really extract myself a bit from my acting career and went more into my activism," she explained. "I went to Africa to help the elephants, I went to Peru to try to help the rainforest. I found my passion for writing books on healing and health. 'The Kind Diet' books came a bit later but that was the start of the journey there."

While she's not acting as much as she once was, being a mom and an activist takes up a lot of her time, and she's juggling it all the best she can.

"It isn't easy, being an activist, a mother and an actress all at the same time. But I'm doing my best," she said. "I continue to do speaking engagements about health and our earth, all of that is really meaningful to me. The most important thing to me is being fully present with my son. As for acting, I'll keep finding a way to dabble, to stay in there."
