Cori Broadus Opens Up About Inflamed Kidney But 'At A Reversible Stage'

Cori Broadus' recent biopsy result is looking positive!

The songwriter has been open about her health battles in the past, including her struggles with lupus and high blood pressure. The autoimmune disease can lead to various symptoms, including inflammation throughout the body. This has led to her frequent visits to the hospital from a very young age, and once again, she took to social media to share the results of a recent procedure. 

Her positive outlook and unwavering determination to conquer her health challenges inspire those facing similar battles, despite her ongoing struggles with her overall well-being.

Fans will recall that the 23-year-old daughter of legendary rapper Snoop Dogg had been to the hospital for a kidney biopsy, which involved removing a small piece of kidney tissue to analyze for any potential abnormalities or illnesses. 

In a new post, she updated her followers on how it went by sharing the results on her Instagram story. The first image was of her notes app with the caption, "Just got off the phone w my rheumatologist, and these are the results from the biopsy." 

The title read, "Kidney biopsy results," before noting that her health is at stage 3 out of 5, with 5 being the worst and 3 being considered mild but still active. However, she wrote that she would have required chemotherapy if her condition had progressed to stage 4.

The doctors also considered putting her on Benlysta, a treatment option administered through a monthly shot or weekly injection. Despite the current condition, she wrote that it remained in a reversible stage and shared that in the past, she was at stage 4, which is why her doctors were treating her aggressively to ensure her safety.

She ended the list by confirming that although her kidneys were inflamed, they were still functioning, and she would keep taking Cell Cept and blood pressure checks every day.  

The following slide showed the glowing singer standing outdoors, wearing a blue workout set consisting of a crop long-sleeve top and high-waisted leggings. She captioned the shot, "Slowly but surely getting there ? on vacation and still putting the work in." 

Before the results came in, she updated her followers on how the biopsy went after she had to return a second time. The Blast noted that her update was filled with positivity despite being nervous about it at first. 

Posted to her Instagram story the night before was the image of a cartoon character sitting behind the steering wheel of a car, looking anxious. She wrote, "Mood because my kidney biopsy (part 2) is tomorrow ???." She added at the bottom, "But they're putting me to sleep, so should be allll ??."

The following slide was a clip from the hospital sitting beside her fiancé Wayne Deuce the next day, writing, "W my right-hand man literally." Broadus then shared a picture of herself with an excited update, "She did it! Everything went well. I have to stay for 6 hours to make sure no bleeding or anything."

Despite the fame and fortune of being the daughter of a music legend, Broadus has faced her fair share of body shaming and criticism and has constantly used her platform to promote love and acceptance toward all body types.

As detailed by The Blast, she preached self-love recently with some pictures that left little to the imagination. Sporting a sheer light brown halter neck jumpsuit, she exuded confidence and sexiness as she posed, leaning over a white marble sink, showcasing her voluptuous figure.

She effortlessly swept her long braid to the side, placing her chin on her palm while showing off her beautifully done eye makeup, complete with a glossy lip. Her engagement ring and hand tattoo were also displayed, adding to her stunning look.

In the next slide, she was against the wall with her hands positioned above her head, casting a sultry glance toward the camera. The sheer fabric of her outfit revealed that she had opted for a thong as her undergarment of choice.

The last photo showed her standing upright, placing one leg on the sink, with her hands covering her bosom and stomach. In the caption, she wrote, "Sexiness is an attitude, not a body type," adding, "Shot by: @wayneduece ? Makeup by: @makeupbymartie ?Hair by: @teasedbytasia ?."
