This is not the first incident to occur at Disneyland within the last few months. In December 2022, Christopher Christensen, a school principal and son of James “Jim” Christensen, the longtime director for the Disney theme parks, took his own life.

The 51-year-old was facing charges of child abuse and endangerment and battery, according to Orange County court records, per DailyMail.

Christensen left an apparent suicide note on social media just moments before he jumped from the Parking Structure. Within the Facebook post, Christensen blamed the wife and mother of his stepchildren, Marlena, claiming that during an altercation that occurred one month prior, her 'anger got the best of her' and she called the cops with, what he says, are false claims of abuse.

However, law enforcement came and investigated, and ultimately believed her side of things as Christensen was held in jail for two nights and was charged with the two domestic violence-related offenses. His bail was set at $10,000.

Brittany Christensen, 26, one of the late principal's three children from his first marriage, spoke exclusively to DailyMail, claiming Marlena was actually the abusive one.

"The charges were inaccurate. [Marlena] has been very difficult in our family for about the last year, and we haven't had any contact with her," she said before adding, "I'd just now started regaining contact with him over the last two weeks, and it's been really great. He'd been trying to figure out how to leave her."

"In my opinion, it seems like this, in his mind, was his way out of his relationship," she said. "She's been abusive to our entire family for five years. That's why we don't have any contact with her any more."

The daughter also shared past texts from Marlena, one of which read, "You're a horrible disgusting excuse for a daughter and sister. Go find your Dad, play the hero. But it's me he will be missing I the morning."

She also claimed that Marlena keyed her car at her apartment in Costa Mesa after the argument, and she filed a police report, however, nothing came of it.
