In 2020, Disney announced Splash Mountain -- at both Walt Disney World and Disneyland -- would be closing permanently as the company pushes for more inclusion. The ride will reopen as a “Princess and the Frog”-themed ride.

Splash Mountain officially closed in Walt Disney World last month, and although the ride still remains open at Disneyland, the Disney Parks are getting fans excited for the new Tiana-themed ride -- which will be called Tiana's Bayou Adventure -- coming soon to both Parks as the company just released the storyline for the upcoming ride.

As the Parks get closer to an anticipated opening date of 2024, Disney is finally letting fans know what the premise of Tiana's Bayou Adventure will be.

Fans of the film know that Tiana developed a love for food and cooking at a young age thanks to her father. And although she lost her dad at a young age, she went on to make her and her father's dreams come true by opening her very own restaurant -- Tiana’s Palace.

The ride will pick up where the beloved 2009 film left off, seeing how Tiana's life is after the success of her restaurant debut and marrying Prince Naveen.

Per Disney Parks Blog, "Walt Disney Imagineering is creating an original, next chapter story for Tiana. Within the attraction queue, guests will discover that she continues to grow her business with Tiana’s Foods – an employee-owned cooperative. Combining her talents with those of the local community, Tiana has transformed an aging salt mine and built a beloved brand."

The storyline will follow Tiana as she purchased the salt mine and the surrounding areas that the salt dome operated from. Fans will see beloved characters from the film including Tiana's mother Eudora, her husband Prince Naveen, and the lovable alligator, Louis, who all helped Tiana revive the old salt mine and the surrounding land, allowing them to grow fresh new ingredients such as vegetables, herbs and spices for her recipes.

Disney Parks Blog continues to report, "This multi-faceted enterprise has turned the aging salt mine into a space that has come alive. Complete with a boutique farm and both a working and teaching kitchen, Tiana’s Foods is where Tiana and her colleagues create all sorts of new products that they are bringing to the world, including a line of original hot sauces."

As a thank you to her family and friends as well as the entire community for their support, Tiana wants to throw a big Mardi Gras party. Unfortunately, things do not go as planned and so Tiana invites the Guests to meet at Tiana’s Foods instead to help her search for the missing ingredient.

Disney Parks Blog stated, "When we arrive, we may see that Tiana spruced up the company’s facilities with vibrant art from local artists. Food for the party is being prepared and beignets are being loaded into crates for the celebration. All kinds of preparations are underway for the journey into the bayou with Tiana, along with new and familiar friends from the animated film."

"Picking up where that story left off, Tiana continues bringing people together with Tiana’s Foods, another treasured meeting place to spend time together and celebrate a diverse community. Tiana is also working with cooperative members to teach gardening and cooking to children of all ages, and inspiring other women to run successful businesses as the brand grows nationwide," the report continued.

The new ride, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, is set to open at both Walt Disney World Resort in Florida and Disneyland Resort in California sometime in 2024.
