Lori Loughlin is all smiles as she slowly makes her back to the public eye. The actress has been lowkey since finishing her prison sentence for the role she played in the college admissions scandal that rocked the United States in 2019.
She and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, pled guilty to the charges leveled against them, with Loughlin getting sentenced to a two-month prison stint that ran from October 30, 2020, to December 28, 2020. She finally made her first appearance at an award show on Friday, February 10, shortly after the end of her two-year supervised release.
Lori Loughlin Stuns On The Red Carpet Of Her First Awards Ceremony Since Prison Stint
Since it would be the first time she would be attending an awards ceremony since leaving the Federal Corrections Institution, Dublin in Dublin, northern California, over two years ago, Loughlin ensured that she dressed to the nines.
She arrived on the red carpet of the 30th annual Movieguide Awards looking dapper in an eye-catching two-piece pink ensemble, including pants with knee-to-feet flare out.
Opting for a darker shade for the inner shirt, Loughlin added a pair of matching pink heels and a box purse to her look. Her blonde hair was styled into a high bun, leaving a few tendrils to fall on both sides of her face.
The "North Beach and Rawhide" star seemed to have a good time catching up with her longtime friend and "Full House" co-star Candace Cameron Bure, who opted for a white mini dress and a pair of black pumps, according to Daily Mail.
Loughlin had shared a hug with a red carpet photographer she recognized before she headed into Hollywood's Dolby Theatre, where the award ceremony was held.
It is worth noting that even though the Movieguide Awards was the "Doing Time on Maple Drive" star's first awards show, it was by no means her first red-carpet event. The Blast noted that she had made an appearance at the DesignCare 2022 Gala, held in Los Angeles last June.
Loughlin was her usual stunning self, wearing a long-sleeved blue dress paired with silver strappy heels and a box-shaped clutch purse. Her hair, styled into loose curls, was left to tumble down her shoulders and back.
The DesignCare 2022 Gala was held to promote actress Holly Robinson and her husband, Rodney Peete's charitable organization, the HollyRod Foundation. The nonprofit is targeted at helping families affected by a diagnosis of Parkinson's Disease or autism.
The "Secret Admirer" actress' last public appearance was in February 2019, when she attended The Women's Cancer Research Fund's Beverly Hills gala. Barely a month later, she and her husband got indicted for their roles in the college admissions scandal headlined by admissions corrector Rick Singer.
Loughlin and Giannulli were arrested after they allegedly paid Singer half a million dollars to falsely appoint their daughters — Olivia Jade and Isabella Rose — as recruits to the University of Southern California rowing team, even though neither had any history playing the sport.
In addition to bagging a two-month jail term, the actress was given a $150,000 fine and 150 hours of community service. As for her husband, Giannulli was sentenced to five months of prison along with a $250,000 fine and 250 hours of community service.
The fashion designer began his sentence in November 2020, getting transferred to house arrest in April 2021, with just one month left on his term.
The Daytime Emmy Awards Nominee Joins Nonprofit Organization For Charitable Event
Loughlin opened up about helping others amid her legal troubles when she joined attendees at Project Angel Food's "Lead With Love 3" telethon last July. The Blast reported that she spoke highly of the televised event when she disclosed:
"It is a community, it is a family, and all the people that work here are so wonderful. They have welcomed me with such open arms at a time when I was feeling particularly down and broken."
She then added her appreciation to the organization for supporting her, highlighting her pride in being a part of them. "I'm so proud to be here and working with this organization because they really do care. It's really a community," the "Rad" actress continued.
She concluded by pointing out it was "more than just feeding people; it's about loving people and helping people."
