Taika Waititi is showing off fresh new ink on his Instagram and its making followers wonder, who is it dedicated too.
Taika Waititi Adds An ‘R’
The Thor Love & Thunder director is making it clear, his love for… “Rugby”. The reveal appeared on Instagram with Taika sharing a video of the peel back of the design then a photo of the final product.
While the sports fanatic is claiming that the R is for rugby, because he is a huge fan of the game, we are inclined to believe that the R stands for his new wife (well, new to us) Rita Ora. The two are very quiet about their relationship and only revealed last month that they are officially married.
Which is crazy because they never really confirmed their relationship to the public they just kind of sneaked around.
The ‘R’ In Rita Ora
The singer and her beau have been giddy about being a married couple and because of that she is finally speaking up about it. The tattoo could be Taika’s way of gushing about his wife publicly, without fully committing to it.
The ‘R’ monogram is in a classic font and he had it placed on his hand, between his thumb and fore finger. the comments are going insane including the Marvel directors famous friends who seem to be in on something that we are not.
Natasha Lyonne, Kate Beckinsale, Vas Morgan, and more left comments regarding love like a red heart emoji, an “awwwwww” from Kate, and smiley face with heart eyes and he’s telling us this is all about rugby? Yeah, sure.
Taika Waititi’s Comments Are Calling Him Out
The comments from his regular followers are calling BS on the real meaning of the sentimental tat. “Rugby ora,” claims one follower. “The three Rs. Rita, Rhys, and Rugby,” noted another. “I think you meant to say Rita? 😘” called out another.
The followers aren’t wrong we, too assume that the ‘R’ is for Rita, why would it not be? And fans of Taika know that he loves to troll his followers. He took the trolling one step further and shared another photo on his Instagram Story.
The new photo was Taika doubling down on the ‘R’ is for rugby and filled in the work “Rugby” using the already perfect placed ‘R’.
What Does Rita Ora Think?
The singer hasn’t acknowledged her husband’s new tattoo on social media yet and knowing how these two roll, it’s a toss up if she ever will but her fans are still in her comments on random older posts asking her if she saw it and what she thinks.
They are also still asking her for wedding photos or some other proof besides her new music video that was apparently based on her wedding to Taika if everything had gone wrong!
Thankfully, it didn’t and as for photos, Rita has already shared that she has no intentions of sharing that part of her life for now. So, we will have to take what we can get and apparently, that is trolling posts from her new husband.
