When Lizzo won the coveted Record of the Year at the 2023 Grammy Awards on Sunday, the cheers resounded because it was "About Damn Time!"

After a massive hug from Adele, Lizzo went on stage to collect her award and gave a beautiful speech about positive music and Prince, something the late singer's official Instagram account has certainly appreciated.

Cheers erupted through the audience as Lizzo, dressed in a silver mini dress walked onstage to collect her award, and started off saying, Let me tell you something. Me and Adele are having a good time just enjoying ourselves, rooting for our friends. This is an amazing night, this is so unexpected."

Adele stood up and cheered at the same, before Lizzo then got a little emotional and dedicated her award to the late artist, Prince, saying in muted tones, "When we lost Prince, I decided to dedicate my life to making positive music."

Prince's Instagram definitely sat up and took note, with a post:

She gained momentum then, saying, "I was like, 'I don't care if my positivity bothers you — what's wrong with you?'"

After a few laughs, the 34-year-old continued, saying, "Positive and feel-good music wasn't mainstream at that point and I felt very misunderstood. I felt on the outside looking in, but I stayed true to myself because I wanted to make the world a better place. So I had to be that change to be a better place. And now, I look around and there's all these songs about loving our body and being comfortable in our skin and feeling f---ing good and I'm just so proud to be a part of it!"

Finally, the "About Damn Time" singer ended her winning speech with advice for others like her who may not fit in just like her, saying, "Just stay true to yourself because I promise you, you will find people, attract people in your life who believe in you and support you."

She also loved going GLAMMY for the GRAMMYS:

After mentioning Adele and dedicating the award to Prince, Lizzo went on to thank her family and loved ones, before telling Beyoncé the sweetest story.

Lizzo went on to relate an anecdote, addressing Queen Bey, "in the 5th grade I skipped school to see you perform." Amidst laughter and with Beyoncé smiling back at her, Lizzo continued, "my sister, she got me out of school. (It was literature, I'm good!)."

She then got a little emotional, telling Beyoncé, "You changed my life. You sang that gospel medley and the way you made me feel… I was like, I want to make people feel this way with my music, so thank you so much."

Lizzo's speech got her a standing ovation and host Trevor Noah felt, "they should give out a Grammy for best speech!"

Lizzo is also proud of her Grammy performance, as she said, "can I say… IM SO PROUD OF MY VOCALS LAST NIGHT! I have been working on my voice for the last couple of years and I’ve come a LONG WAY. Y’all think I’m a born singer but I was a RAPPER first." She also thanked her voice coach, her team, and her stylists for helping and guiding her in her performance.

Lizzo's Instagram is now full of celebs and fans saying lovely things.

SZA commented, "The high-pitched scream is me 😂and I can’t believe you can hear it from across the room 😭😭😭 sorry not sorry... I cried. ❤️ you deserve it ALL love you."

Wrote Kerry Washington, "Sooooooo incredibly inspired by you. Your positive energy is infectious! Congratulations!!!!!!!!"

Selma Blair had the kindest words: "You are changing the world and I am so truly grateful to live in the same time as you! You change my life. For the better. Thank you. All love and respect. Congratulations."
