Britney Spears Says She Was ‘Rebelling’ During Her ‘Secret Relationship’

Singer Britney Spears has been linked to Iranian actor Sam Asghari since 2016 and the two finally tied the knot last June.

The 41-year-old pop star has been married twice before. She was married to Jason Alexander very briefly in 2004, but the marriage was quickly annulled. She married backup dancer Kevin Federline later that same year, although the couple divorced in 2007.

That being said, Britney has often alluded to a "secret relationship" after her conservatorship began in February 2008. In her latest Instagram post, the "Hold Me Closer" singer revealed that the relationship was a sign of her "rebelling" against her conservatorship.

In her latest Instagram post, the “Toxic” singer described herself as a big fan of Pamela Anderson and felt that she could relate to the documentaries being made about her life.

“With 4 documentaries released about me last year with people I adore speaking about my past !!! THAT alone was almost as hard as what I went through in my past !!!” Britney wrote, referring to the documentaries as “extremely embarrassing” and “semi-illegal.”

“I confess at 25 I was finally in a secret relationship, having a private life !!!” she admitted. “So what if all of a sudden I was rebelling !!! That doesn’t make it right for my dad to claim he’s ME and take over for 15 years of my life !!! I did MORE than enough in that time TO MAKE THINGS GOOD !!!”

In a since-deleted Instagram post from March 2022, Britney wrote, “I even used to have a boyfriend whom we had a secret relationship … secrets are intimidating … like what’s your secret recipe ????” She went on to say, “My family couldn’t stand the fact I disappeared into oblivion in my relationship !!!! They never heard from me anymore … like ‘What’s her deal? We want to know!’”

“6 months later my dad took over my whole career and cut all my friends out and boyfriend … even one lady I had coffee with was my mom’s friend and I was told I couldn’t see !!!!” she continued. “My mom and dad shacked up every night watching CRIMINAL MINDS and I was literally devastated …”

In August, the "Overprotected" singer released a shocking audio clip that again mentioned her “secret relationship.” Apparently, their relationship was so serious that the “Oops!... I Did It Again” singer almost considered leaving the country with him!

“I was talking to a guy, and he wanted to just leave the country with me,” Britney recalled. “We had it all set up to just leave, and it was a secret relationship.” Apparently, the relationship wasn’t a total secret, as she once told her assistant about her secret beau when they were backstage during one of her residency shows in Las Vegas.

Britney said she told her assistant that her biggest fear was “What would my dad do if I did do something wrong? What if they found me? What would they do?” She said she was worried that “they would lock me up or really hurt me” if she actually ran away from her conservatorship.

Although Britney recalled her assistant telling her “your dad would never do that to you,” Britney claims that she was forced into a mental health facility in 2019 against her will.

I really respect the fact that her children stood up for her relating to the fact that people were trying to sell her story from the past !!! They said “why the hell bring up things that happened 20 years ago if that really messed up my mom ???” Referring to the embarrassing subject being sold in a comedic TV comparison … he’s right !!! He went on to say because of the embarrassment she went through a very dark period in her life … I mean when I read THAT, I was like D*MN !!! With 4 documentaries released about me last year with people I adore speaking about my past !!! THAT alone was almost as hard as what I went through in my past !!! So Pamela gave me an understanding that people should support you exactly where you are in that moment of your life … unless cruelty rules the world ??? I mean, does it make other people and my family subconsciously and secretly feel WAAAAY better about themselves to embarrass me and bring up my past ??? The answer is yes !!! 100% !!! Unfortunately, the way my past was portrayed in those documentaries was extremely embarrassing !!! It felt semi-illegal !!! But you know I was told once we all die in the end … chill out and let it go !!!"
