Tory Lanez Delays Release Of 'Loner' Project

Tory Lanezhas been planning for over a month of releasing different "capsules" which are contain songs of different genres.
The Toronto rapper revealed that he'd put out rap, R&B, acoustic, Reggae, and more. They were supposed to be out on Thanksgiving but, he decided to spend the day giving back to local communities. Lanez planned to put out the rap capsule on December 18 but took to Instagram hours before its release to reveal that it will be pushed back until next week.
Lanez' 'Loner' Will Be Out On December 22
In the video posted to Instagram, Lanez said that the "Loner" project's new release date will be on December 22. He added that instead of eight songs, it will be bumped up to 10. He has since encouraged fans to start pre-ordering this.
Lanez is having fun on the app as well as he is using different filters as comedy in order to promote the pre-order option for Loner. The tracklist has yet to be revealed but expect that to change over the weekend.
'Loner' Will Be Lanez's Third Project Of 2020
It has been a crazy year for Lanez in regards to being accused of shooting Megan Thee Stallion this summer but has been very consistent with his music. In April, he put out the third installment of his "The New Toronto" mixtape series which went on to debut at No. 2 on the Billboard 200.
In September, he released his "Daystar" album which debuted at No. 10 on the Billboard 200. This is despite only selling 36,000 units due to Megan supporters trying to cancel him.
Lanez Faces 22 Years In Prison In Megan Thee Stallion Shooting Case
In October, the L.A. County D.A.'s Office officially brought on a felony assault charge against Lanez in regards to allegedly shooting Megan in Hollywood Hills. The full list of charges are one count of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, and one count of carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle.
They also stated that Lanez caused "great bodily injury" to Megan. In mid-November, his attorney plead not guilty in court for Lanez on his behalf. Lanez also maintained his innocence in an October Instagram Live. 22 years and eight months are on the table if he is convicted.
Lanez Has Been Active On Social Media Since September After Hiatus
Lanez spent two months off of social media after the initial reports in July that he was the one who shot Megan. When he announced that Daystar would arrive at the end of September, he has been very active on his social media feeds since then, mostly on Instagram.
He posts content to his stories as well as upcoming music that he is planning to release. On Halloween, he even brought back his popular "Quarantine Radio" show that he began doing back in April.
