Former American football receiver Uzoma “Eazy” Nwachukwu is renowned for his skills on the pitch. Still, he attained fame during his time as a contestant for the reality television series, “The Bachelorette.”

The footballer’s time on the show was comical and controversial as severe allegations from his past mired it.

During his NFL career, the 29-year-old starred at Texas A&M, racking up 2,239 receiving yards, 19 receiving touchdowns, and one rushing touchdown. But all the success he enjoyed didn’t translate to a long-lasting career in the NFL.

Following the 2013 NFL Draft, when Nwachukwu wasn’t selected, he signed up with the “Houston Texans” as an undrafted free agent and spent his time on the team’s practice squad in Houston.

He also made shortstops with “Miami Dolphins,”“Seattle Seahawks,” and “Dallas Cowboys.” After his contract ended, and he was released by the “Cowboys” in September 2017.

Nwachukwu never made another appearance in a regular-season game, putting an end to his NFL career. Shortly after the season premiere of “The Bachelorette,” and Nwachukwu was revealed as one of the show’s contestants, a woman came forward with allegations of sexual assault against him.

Following the allegations, “ABC” started an investigation on the claims but found it inconclusive. Still, the damage was already done, as it seemed the allegations might have tainted the footballer’s time on the show as he was relegated mainly into a background character.

With the claims against him still unconfirmed, Nwachukwu was not expected to win “The Bachelor,” or even be featured in “Bachelor in Paradise” in the future.

Moving on to a new career after he left the NFL as an athlete, Nwachukwu, who was still passionate about the sport, joined the staff of the sports agency that once represented him as a Marketing agent.

He Had A Career Switch

The marketing agency's new job at the “Athlete’s First” was to represent NFL players by recognizing their unique abilities on the field and mining it for lucrative endorsement deals and commercial appearances. The agency is also tasked with helping the players utilize and monetize their abilities the best way the can.

Some players represented by “Athlete’s First” are Aaron Rodgers, Deshaun Watson, and Jalen Ramsey.

Although this job as a marketing agency wasn’t an initial career choice that Nwachukwu envisioned at the NFL, it is one that suits his big personality, and for now, he’s contented with it.

A Clare Crawley Stan

In a chat on “Bachelor Happy Hour” in October, Nwachukwu revealed that he found the former lead of “The Bachelorette” Clare Crawley refreshing.

 He appreciated her straight-to-the-point approach and disclosed that it was that particular trait that drew him closer to her.

Picking one moment that particularly impressed him, Nwachukwu shared that he liked when Crawley immediately Brandon Goss was evicted when he couldn’t give a reason for being on the show. He admired Crawley for making the journey solely hers and refusing to play by any rules but hers.

Making massive career changes is not an easy task for most people, but Uzoma “Eazy” Nwachukwu did it successfully, excelling in both careers.
